Does your husband snore?

And if so, is it annoying the hell out of you?  My DH snores and always has.  Because I'm a light sleeper, it usually wakes me up.  I've been living with him for almost 3 years and have become accustomed to it over time.  I have found myself waking up during the night less and less, sometimes not at all.

Well, now that I am getting up every 2-3 hours to pee, his snoring is really getting to me!  I'm usually drifting back off to sleep when I'm startled by a loud snort! I have gone to the couch several times over the past few weeks and have asked him to go as well, and he always does because he understands that I need sleep.

Re: Does your husband snore?

  • God yes and it drives me flipping crazy. Especially since if he lost 20lb he wouldn't snore anymore. I usually kick him out and he's accomodating, but it just pisses me off to no end.

  • He has always snored and it has always bothered me. I just get up and go sleep in our guest room. Since I'm a pregnant furnace at night...this is just best for all of us! =)
  • OMG YES.

I have barely gotten any sleep this week because he's been waking me up 15 times a night with his terrible snoring.

  • DH only snores when he sleeps on his back. So when he starts snoring, I shove him til he wakes up and tell him to turn over. Works every time.

This used to work for us but now he snores on all sides. Sometimes I feel like I'm turning him like a rotisserie chicken before I lose my sh!t and throw him out.

  • My hubby just went for a sleep study because his snoring was so bad.  So far the dr. recommended a wedge pillow and some kind of nasal spray but if that doesn't work he may need an oxygen mask for sleep apnea or possibly surgery.

  • OMG, yes! I hate it. When we were dating it didn't bother me, but it's gotten progressively worse. I can't sleep if he falls sleep first. Once my law school exams hit, I started wearing ear plugs so I could be sure to get rest. Now, I can't sleep without them. I can still hear things, but it mutes the snoring enough to where I can sleep.

  • My DH snores like crazy! I have been wearing earplugs for several years. Do yourself a favor and go buy some. They work!

  • My DH is an open mouth sleeper and this has never been a problem before but now that I have a super nose, I can't stand his breath in my face!!!  I told him about this and there really isn't anything he can do in the middle of the night but he did give me permission to push him over.  It helps but I swear I could smell his breath if he was sleeping in the guest room!!! Ugh!

  • mine wears a CPAP for sleep apnea, with out it, he snores so loud I can hear him downstairs!!  When we were out of power for a few nights, I couldn't sleep in the same room as him, it was incredibly horrible!  I don't think ear plugs would even cover it!!

  • My DH wears the cpap mask as well, but lately he has been snoring "through" it! What the heck! Is this Karma trying to kill me? I'm sleeping so lightly now a days anyway to try and fall asleep next to that is impossible.

I try to do this, but he always tips back on his back, or kinda leans back but is sort of still on his side.  Usually after 2-3 tries, I leave or I ask him to leave. I'm over it!

He snores even LOUDER when he's drunk.

I did try the ear plugs thing, but they never fit in my ears and fall out in the middle of the night.

I do believe that he has mild sleep apnea, but he doesn't want to do a sleep study.  I do wonder if the snoring would lessen if he lost weight - it's gotten worse since we got married (he and I both gained some weight after getting married!)

OMG I thought I was going to get some good sleep while DH was traveling this week, but instead my boxer woke me up with his snoring.  It was so loud last night that I actually thought that DH had snuck home early.

  • Yes! My hubby snores...I usually kick or punch him (lightly of course) so it half wakes him up. Then he changes positions and does not continue to snore! It works like a charm :)

  • DH does sometimes.  I'll kick him and tell him that he is snoring, and he'll wait until I sleep before he goes back to sleep.  Thankfully it isn't loud.
