C-Section "Flap"

I have a small flap. It's getting a little bit smaller as the weight comes off. But it definitely takes some getting used. Especially in front of DF, who doesn't mind at all. That and its still sensitive, which makes breastfeeding interesting. I never knew that could happen from a c-section. I ended up having a C-section last minute. Was anyone else lucky enough to get a Mother's Apron?

Re: C-Section "Flap"

  • Are you talking about the pouch?  I call mine (to myself) my csection gut.  I keep wondering when it is going to go away completely or if I'll have to do hella crunches to get rid of it.  It is getting smaller week by week but I know I did not have this much of a "gut" the first time around with my son and I'm thinking its because I had him vaginally.  It will go away I just wish it would hurry up!

  • ::Raises hand::Embarrassed I didn't get it with my first but I also didn't go full term. I lost weight and it has disappeared a lot; although it is more prominent on my right side. I carried DD low I don't know if this aided to it. With DS I carried high.

  • Yes  Sad  Granted I still have a lot of baby weight to lose.  I don't think it's ever going to fully go away.

  • I had a c-section 11 years ago and am way smaller than when I was pregnant with my son. Unfortunately it's never gone away:(

  • Try not to worry about it.

When I had my son, my "flap" went away around 6 months postpartum. That was after tons of pilate workouts and ab strength training exercises.

Don't fret, ladies. With a little hard work, it will go away!

  • After DD, I got the lovely mamas apron. I lost quite a bit of weight after DD and it was getting smaller until I got pregnant again. I am having another csection in Oct so we will see if I can get rid of it this time around.

  • I still have mine, but I have some weight to lose. I'm sure once I start working out and losing weight, it will get smaller, but it doesn't look like it will actually every fully disappear, unfortunately.

    Me too!

I call mine, my "Shelf". =(

I hate it. I still have 20 lbs to loose of baby weight plus the extra 10 that I want to get ride off.

I wear spanx to help hold up the shelf and make my torso look...better... =/
