Morphin drip ?

The dr tried placing my epi twice . I had full feeling on my right side . I had a horrible back labor , and pushed for 8 hours . I ended up wiith a 1mg morphin drip and a c-section . Anyone else have a similar sitiuation ?

    during the c/sec? I had a morphine drip for about 24 hrs after the c/sec. During (the epi wouldn't work right) they put me under.

    no idea...maybe it WAS a morphin drip. Nobody told me anything. They were talking about me like a specimen. "Ok I think it's time to put her under" was the last thing I heard. I opened my mouth to ask about that but then woke up in recovery.

    I had it directly after my c-section because I had horrible back spasms that were worse than any pain I ever felt in my life. I got them from pushing for so long and then being strapped to a board for the surgery. I was crying and begging for meds so they gave me the drip but it knocked me out for about 2 hours. I was upset when I woke up becuase all my family had met my son and left the hospital already! This time I am hoping to avoid it. My epi worked fine, it was just the issues with my back.

    For me it almost felt like it didn't do anything for the pain. I was in like screaming pain after the surgery for the next 12 hrs. I only felt better when they put me on percacets a day later.

    I didn't have a drip. They gave me a spinal, then after the c-section they gave me a shot of morphine and I couldn't stop throwing up. So they just stuck with other meds. I felt fine until I started walking 18 hours later...Ouch!

    Are you asking about a general anesthesia? From what I believe it can be delivered via IV or gas mask. I had the gas.

    Are you asking about a general anesthesia? From what I believe it can be delivered via IV or gas mask. I had the gas.

    I have no idea if I had gas or IV even. They put a mask over my face and were doing something else but my entire body was mostly numb due to the epi so not sure if they injected anything. The mask might have been oxygen...or gas. Good times.

    i got morphine after my c/s and it made me sick.
