C-sections

My c-section birth story

Let me just say that a SCHEDULED c-section is waaaaay different than when it is an emergency. With my first DD i was in so much pain from endless labor and pushing that i just wanted to the c-section so bad so it would be over. With this c-section it was scary to be so "aware" of everything. I shivered uncontrollably as i was given my spinal block (which hurt like hell and i still have alot of back pain from it). I was getting like sort of an anxiety attack as i watched all the scissors and instruments being set out for the surgery. I kept trying to fight the paralysis that was coming over my legs as the doctors told me to relax. As i lay there, my chest felt so heavy like there was an anvil on it. I kept moving my hands and turning my head to look at my SO because it was the only parts of me i could move. He said at one point he peeked over the drape and saw my instestine hanging on the side. I could see some relflection as well in the glass cabinet behind the doctor. After the surgery I was so dizzy and my blood pressure had dipped to 90/40.

When all was said and done we had a beautiful baby girl: Colleen Rose was born on 2.08.11 at 2:09pm (ironic since my original due date was 2.09.11) She weighed in at 7lbs even and 20 inches long. she has the most brightest blue eyes i have ever seen.
