So I've finally built up the courage to introduce myself and my story (after months of lurking). The abridged version:
I'd known that I had fibroids for about 3 years and every doctor told me that they should cause no problems with pregnancy. In Feb (first month of trying) BFP and we were delighted! On May 17th I woke up with terrible cramps and bleeding. We went to the ER and they admitted us to L&D but by the time all tests, ultrasounds, etc. were done they said it was too late. They could not save my baby and that my fibroids were degenerating- causing me to go into pre-term labor. Within 5 hours I delivered my baby boy at 18w. He lived for 1.5 hours and I held him in my arms until he took his very last breath. He was beautiful and perfect in every way. The proceeding months have pretty much been a blur coupled with a state of depression, but I had an abdominal myomectomy (surgery to remove fibroids) in July and have been given the all clear by my doctor to TTC this month. I'm pretty sure we're ready to start this journey again, but I'm just terrified that I'll never have a normal or successful pregnancy. I'm sure many of you can relate to this, hence the reason I decided to stop lurking (and feeling sorry for myself!) and get involved. Thanks for reading my story and hopefully we won't be here for very long.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Your story is heartbreaking. I'm glad that you are joining us though, this board is amazing. I hope you find the support and comfort that you need here.
TTCAL is a hard journey but we can all share it as we travel along. Hopefully you won't be here long. Welcome!
