I'm starting to question if I'm doing enough "educational" activities with LO during the day. It was so much easier when he was younger, but I feel like now that he is starting to babble maybe I should be doing more.
I talk to him most of the day, we have lots of playtime, I try to take him different places so he's seeing new things. We read, but is anyone playing with flashcards or anything like that? I'm just not sure what I should be doing with him at this age (7 mths).
What is your schedule during the day? What activities are you doing with LO? What sort of "educational" things do you do?
Thanks!
Re: SAHMs - what do you do all day?
We try to take her somewhere out of the house every day. Whether it's the park, the children's museum, or the grocery store, we want her to have stimulation. We also do a lot of standing, walking, rolling balls to her, and physical things. Recently, we started simple signs like more, eat, and milk.
When we play we do a lot of talking. Like "this triangle is yellow. You put the yellow triangle on top of the blue circle". She loves when I clap for her after she scoots or catches the ball I roll to her. We read at least one book every night too.
I'm not going to do flashcards until she's older. I want her to learn through play for now. I don't think she's ready for that yet.

Bleh I hate when H asks me this because to the rest of the world it seems like not a lot! But.... basically:
Wake up
Change DD, get her dressed
Feed dogs, make coffee
Feed DD & pump (I EP)
Listen to music in DD room and play on the floor
Feed again and put DD down for 1st nap
While she's sleeping I check e-mail, fb, bump and eat breakfast, get dressed, start to tidy up the house
DD wakes up, I feed her again and pump simultaneously
We read books, play with the dogs, play with her toys
Go for a walk if the weather is nice or run errands
Feed DD, put her down for 2nd nap
While sleeping (SHE's sleeping... not me haha!), I clean the house up, do laundry, plan meals
DD wakes up I feed her again, and we play, cuddle on the couch, listen to her music, I pump again
DD down for 3rd nap
Me - cleaning more, reading books,
DD wakes up and H usually comes home soon
ETA: oh yeah and I usually eat lunch somewhere in there too
My EP'ing Blog
We read in the morning and before bed and sometimes during the day. I also retell the stories from his books while we are out walking in in the car. I count stuff with him and talk to him pretty much all day. He has stacking blocks that I count and name the colours. And I sing ABCs to him multiple times a day, mostly because he just really likes that song. I spend a lot of time during the day playing on the floor with him and I'm quite sure he's learning plenty while we're playing.
I only do one out of the home activity with him that would be considered educational - we got to story time at the library. Other than that, after errands, most of our out of the house activities are fun things, like the park or swimming.
