How long after D&C did you conceive?

My D&C was Monday and I'm overly anxious to begin TTC. I know I have to wait until my first normal period and up to 3 more months. When did you conceive after the D&C?

So sorry for your loss. It took us 7 months to conceive after my D&C. We started trying right away since our OB gave us the ok.

D&C on 2.15.11

First cycle after D&C started 4.2.11; I took progesterone to get it. I was cleared by my RE to start TTC that cycle. Used Clomid and timed intercourse. BFN.

Second cycle after D&C took progesterone again and started 5.9.11, Clomid CD3-7 again, trigger shot on CD14, timed intercourse CD12-15. BFP.

So sorry for your loss. After 1st D&C we got pg the first month we tried (waited 2 cycles to try, doctor said we could try after 1). After 2nd D&C we got pg the 7th cycle we tried (waited 3 cycles to try, doctor said we could again try after 1). Best wishes.

I had a missed miscarriage at 11wks, though the baby stopped developing at 9wk. I had a D&C. My doctor said that I could try again after I get my first period. However, I had a difficult recovery period with about a month of bleeding. I didnt feel mentally or physically ready after just one period.

We waited another 6 months for me to be "there." We got pregnant the first month, first try. I know some docs prefer you to wait different amounts of time, such as 1 month, 3 months, etc.

Every pregnancy is different and you could have a easy and healthy pregnancy next time!

Ditto this. It totaled about 4.5 months between D&C and BFP.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

It took us three months- one mandatory cycle off, one really crazy cycle where I don't think I ovulated, and then conceived in the third. Definitely give your body time to heal and don't be surprised if your cycles are super crazy afterwards.

So sorry for your loss. I remember thinking about having a second chance at a healthy pregnancy really kept me going. We waited 1 cycle and then got pregnant our 4th cycle trying again. Sometimes it felt like FOREVER, but in the end I was glad for the time to reflect, grieve, and really be ready to move on. I truly believe it happened again when it was supposed to!

I had to wait until my period returned before trying again and it took me two months to get pregnant. I had a natural miscarriage with that pregnancy, had to wait another month, then it took me 2 months again to get pregnant. And here I am, still pregnant...finally!

So sorry for your loss. With my last miscarriage, I had a D&C, waited one cycle, and had 4 cycles before a BFP. I do have short cycles, though, so, in all, it was about 4 months exactly from the D&C to my next BFP.

2 weeks! We weren't necessarily trying but obviously not being careful enough. The doctor never told me to wait any certain amount of time. I was pregnant by my 4 week check up after the d&C. I don't know if it's good or bad to get pregnant right away after the surgery but this is the only baby that's stuck so I don't care! And I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can get your sticky baby very soon.

We started trying right away after our doctor's go ahead~ it took us exactly one year~ I ovulated late and O'd on the anniv of our loss and D&C and we got pg that month. I'm sorry you've had a loss- Big hugs and good luck.

*hugs* I know this is a frustrating and scary time for you and your husband. I would encourage you to concentrate on your relationship and work on healing yoru heart. I know you feel like you should get pregnant super fast now [I did] but it will take time and you should take that time to really work on healing. I wish someone had told me that. I put all my stock into each cycle and wanting to be pregnant again SO fast but it doesn't happen for everybody. My situation might be a little different since I lost a tube and had major surgery while losing a baby at the same time. *hugs* Take time and it will all work out.

That being said, I waited the two weeks until we could have sex again. I had a c/p the month before I got pregnant this time. It took me 5 cycles to get pregnant this time.

I had a D&C on 6/1/2011, at 9 weeks, 3 days. My oby/gyn recommended that I wait two cycles (for emotional and physical reasons). I got my first period after the D&C on 6/26 (25 days later), and we got pregnant right after that (I guess that would be my second cycle post-D&C). Even though it happened more quickly than anyone anticipated, I bounced back so quickly after the first D&C that my oby/gyn was not worried about me being pregnant or the health of the new pregnancy.

For me, I am considered "advanced maternal age," (39--will be 40 when I deliver) so I was pretty gung-ho about getting back on the horse again quickly, and took a lot of steps (supplements, acupuncture, royal jelly) to get and keep myself in the best babymaking form that I could.

That being said, I myself was concerned about being pregnant so soon after a D&C, but my first ultrasound last week showed a 8 week, 3-day baby with a heartrate of 178, which helped to allay my concerns a little (when you're pregnant after a loss, there are ALWAYS concerns )

I know I'm a bit of an anomaly, being older and getting pregnant so soon, but I think that everything happens for a reason, and if this baby is meant to come into this world, it will. In the meantime, I just do my best to make it a comfy environment in there!

I think you should take all the time you need to heal, and when you are truly ready, you will know. Wishing you the best of luck, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had to wait 8 weeks for my first post D&C AF to arrive. My OB cleared me to try again at that point. I got a BFP that first cycle, but had a CP. Two cycles after that, we conceived this LO.

I had D&C 1.20.11 @12wk and then were told to wait 1 cycle before we could try again - AF came 29 days after D&C. It took us 6 cycles after that to get pregnant again.

D&C was July 20th and we got pregnant December. That was our 2nd cycle actually trying.
