Do you bake with butter or margarine?

 

I bake all of my cookies with margarine.  I've tried baking with butter and they always turn out flat and crispy.  With margarine they are perfect and soft and heavenly.

    Margarine (specifically I Can't Believe It's Not Butter's baking margarine) unless a recipe calls for a mixture of both (I have a couple that do), then I follow the directions exactly.

    I use margarine, mostly out of habit. That's what my mom always bought, so it's what I buy.

    I hate the taste of butter, so margarine is the only thing I have in the house. I don't mind butter in baked goods, just never have it on hand.
    First comes Love Nov 11,  2003, Then Marriage: Aug. 23, 2006. Baby??? TTC since May 2010. Started seeking additional medical intervention (again) Summer 2013, finally appointment is booked!

    My dad's mother always used margarine, so baking with it isn't completely anathema to me, but I think I will always use butter, even if the recipe calls for margarine.

    I always use Crisco because that's what my parents used.  I've used butter a couple times but have never tried margarine.

    60/40 butter and crisco. 

    Sometimes I take out a bit of the crisco and substitute it 1:1 for coconut oil. A Tbs or so.
