Shower Date question

A friend of mine has generously offered to throw me a shower. The question we have is when? I am due in the middle of January, but live in Minnesota,so it can be downright unpleasant, weather wise.

Is November to close to the holidays? What do you ladies think?

    I'd go early to mid November. 7 months pregnant sounds just about perfect for the timing and it shouldn't be too close to the holidays.

    I am due Feb 6th and having mine early november for a number of reasons. One, I live 750 miles from my hometown and traveling so close to my due date just does NOT sound like fun. Also, having an earlier baby shower will give you plenty of time to accumulate and purchase all of the things you need that you dont receive from friends and family so I think an earlier baby shower is a great idea!!!     I think early November sounds good too. I am due in early November and just had one last weekend...plus, you don't want to be miserably pregnant at your shower anyway so you can enjoy it!

    I was wondering this exact thing, I'm from North Dakota and due in January! I was thinking of end of October, that is when our homecoming for our college will be so people will already be in town. Plus, hopefully it won't have started snowing yet.

    I am due in Feb. however we expect to have the baby early due to prior complications with my uterus... we are having ours in November.. i freaked at the the thought of october for some reason.. seemd so close. I dont think that November is to close to the holidays if you do it early in the month.
