C-sections
Repeat C sch. drs appt tomorrow ? to ask
Tomorrow I'm 35 weeks. I have an appt tomorrow with my OBGyn. We already have the date selected for my repeat c-section. First time around was not planned and I was in labor and had a c-section for several reasons: failure to progress and pre-e.
So tomorrow I will NOT be taking LO#1 with me so I want all my ducks in a row to really focus on asking questions:
Some I've already thought of:
If I go into labor pre-date of c how long to wait before contacting office?
Breastfeeding- since I wont be laboring how will my body know to kick in for breastfeeding?
Can I bf right away (as in post delivery in room)
Can baby stay with me if no complications in recovery room?
Can you still prolong cord clamping with the c-section?
Any others you can think of? C-section 1 was unexpected and I wasn't really mentally prepared for it, so this time I want to know a bit more about hte procedure.

I was told to call right away.
2.) Breastfeeding- since I wont be laboring how will my body know to kick in for breastfeeding?
It just does. My milk came in faster with my repeat c/s than with my unplanned c/s. It came in at day 3.
3.) Can I bf right away (as in post delivery in room)?
Yes. I bf'd her as soon as they wheeled me in the recovery room.
4.) Can baby stay with me if no complications in recovery room?
Yes.
5.) Can you still prolong cord clamping with the c-section?
I am unsure.

Call right away as secod and subs. labors tend to progress a lot quicker

It will- in fact to encourage milk to come in quicker do a lot of skin-to-skin. My milk came in a whole 4 days earlier this c/s than my first (2 days after c/s it came in this time as 1 wk after first time)

Pry depends on your hospitals policy. I had to wait until I was in my rm and baby was done with the exams they give them

see above. LO was able to room in with me- even overnight without anyone else there.
5.) Can you still prolong cord clamping with the c-section?
No- I asked myself. Do to your stomach being cut open they need to get the baby, placenta, etc. out as quick as possible and to start sewing you up so that you do not lose to much blood.
Not sure if this is with same doc as before...
1. Will incision be in the same place? My friend had her second bikini incision an inch lower than the first!
2. Options for closing outside of incision? Different than last time?
Oh good ones thanks! It WAS supposed to be the same dr. but he is now taking off for the holiday. So it's the dr. who was going to assist him. That or I had to wait a week and we had already told people the date for childcare arrangement (they are closing their business to watch DS1)
