Do any of you ladies know when LO is suppose turn? Like what month or week. Shouldn't they be at least half way turned when do half way through your pregnancy? I really am not worrying. Just curious is all.

  • Do you mean when does the doctor/MW become concerned if the baby hasn't turned? My little guy didn't turn until week 30ish, and the doctor said we'd take c-section at week 36-37 if he hadn't turned by then, at which point he has no room to do so really.

  • I don't know. I had an u/s yesterday (33w) and she is head down. The last u/s at 25w she was head up at kind of a diagonal, so somewhere in between there she turned. I don't know when they're supposed to though.

Your doctor will monitor position as you get closer to delivery and you'll know if baby is breech or transverse or head down.

  • My baby was transverse at 17 weeks and then head down at 21weeks. He seems to stay mostly head down, but sometimes still gets himself slightly transverse (like diagonal). Every baby is different though, my coworker's son didn't turn until 37 weeks!

  • Owen was transverse, which is considered breech, until 35 weeks. He finally flipped to head down, but the doc said if he has room he can still flip back and forth.

  • My little guy turned around 30 weeks.  There was no mistaking it at all that he was vertical...just a question of which end was up, lol.  He was transverse (sideways) before.

I asked my doc at my last appt (before she confirmed he'd flipped) and she said they don't really start to get concerned until around 36 weeks or so.  Up until then there is plenty of time to flip.  At 20 weeks, there is also plenty of room still.

  • DS turned at 34 weeks.  My doctor said if they don't flip by 35 weeks the likelyhood significantly drops.

  • Thanks I know mine has plenty of time to flip! I really feel like he is going to be stubborn though, but oh well if he wants to be stubborn he can I just want him healthy. I was just sitting here thinking every time he gets "poked" to move by me or the u/s tech it seams as if he freezes like he is pissed he got poked or we scared him. ? Stick out tongue They u/s tech even said he was going to be aggravating.

  • I'm not really sure when they should be in a certain position.  I think my little guy switches from vertical to transverse a lot just going on where I feel the movements.  Everytime I get an US his head is always in a different spot for now.
