NBR: Laser Hair Removal?

There is a deal right now in my area for 3 laser hair removals for $99.  I'm thinking of buying it to zap my lovely stache.  Has anyone done this before?  Is it worth doing?  I really don't have that much hair, but I'd love to quit getting my lip waxed if possible.  What should I do?

    3 for $99 is not bad but to do your upper lip hair you will have to shave it, get it lasered, let it grow back in, shave for next laser, rinse repeat.  I wasn't going to shave my face so I did not do laser hair removal on my face.  Just my experience.

    Shave?  WTF?  Are you serious?  Hmmm...reconsidering this option.  Why do you have to shave it?  That scares me!

    I've lad laser hair removal on my face and didn't have to shave.  You just cannot pluck or wax between treatments.  If you want to avoid it getting long, you would need to snip with manicure scissors or something. 

    I'm pretty sure that you'd need 6 treatments for it to be effective though.

    I was told I would have to shave it or the laser would just burn the hair and not get to the follicle.  Who knows -- it was enough for me to pass.  I'm a waxer :)  If you don't have to shave it then I'd do it.  It may not be effective 100% (I also needed 6 treatments) but you can always pick up another Groupon.

    I just started laser hair removal on my bikini area.  It $1450 so 99 for 3 would be a  good deal but that will never finish it.  They say it usually takes 6-10 treatments depending on the type of hair.  You don't have to shave before but can't wax or tweeze.  They say if you shave it makes it more comfortable.

    I'm in the process now. I have done 6 lip treatments so far and I purchased 8. I'll probably have to do 12 to completely be hair free. But not having a 'stache is worth it. I'm also doing my bikini line, which has worked a lot better than my lip - probably b/c the hair is darker and my skin (there) is fairer.

    My center will shave it the day of Tx if you don't. No waxing/tweezing during Tx either.

    I am/will do my bikini area and my skin is very fair and my hair is very dark and 6 Txs only got about 50% of the hair (so far, I got pregnant again). I bought a 12 session package for $600.
