Laundry help!

So while checking out a lot of Xavier's old clothes from the garage, I see some of the white stuff has the yellow stains on it.  I have no idea what the stains are, because they weren't there when I packed them up! Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of them? I can't really bleach them because they have colors/designs on them.

Re: Laundry help!

  • I'm not a laundry expert, but can you use that OxyClean stuff on it? Might want to wash it again after in your baby detergent if you are unsure if that would be too harsh on baby clothes...

  • Hmm, the only two things that come to mind is maybe there was a water leak, and the other is rodent urine. But that's just in my own experience. Try Oxyclean, and once you see the stain gone you can re-wash the clothes in some free & clear detergent. GL!

  • Did you formula feed? I know that formula stains can show up after sitting around for a while.  I'm not sure if BM does the same thing. It's like when paper sits around and then gets yellow. You can try to wash it but it might not come out.

  • Try soaking them in Rockin' Green... Works wonders!

It is likely stains from formula.  I've heard a lot of people had this happen.  I know some girls have had luck with soaking it in oxyclean.

    Good luck!

  • It is protein stains - just takes them a while to show up.

  • can you try scrubbing the stains with vinegar and putting them out in the sun?

  • I think they must be old spit up/breast milk stains.  It's been 3 years, so I don't know if they'll come out or not.  Will definitely be trying the above suggestions.  Thanks ladies!

Where do you get this from? I've never heard of it.  Is it sold in stores or online?

  • https://rockingreensoap.com/ It's online. I use it on cloth diapers, but it's gotten some insane stains out of T's clothes, too.

  • So the clothes have been soaking overnight in a Borax and Oxi Clean solution.  As of a few hours ago, there was no change.  So I threw in some baking soda, then vinegar, then peroxide, then lemon juice.  All of a sudden 3 of them are clean so they are being rewashed now in a Free & Clear detergent.  I still have 3 soaking though, but I guess if they aren't salvageable then that's okay.  If I only lost 3 outfits out of a giant rubbermaid container that's not bad! I'm also gonna try to sun them tomorrow too, so we'll see what happens! Also, am definitely gonna invest in some of the Rockin' Green cleaner!
