I want to take something extra for my hair and nails, but am not sure what's safe to take during pregnancy and what can or can't be taken along with prenatal pills. I've read that fish oil is great for fetal brain and eye development, but is it okay to take with my prenatals?
Re: Is it okay to take prenatal vitamins AND fish oils pills?
Yes, perfectly safe and recommended!
When I asked my OB/GYN what I should be doing to get ready for TTC & pregnancy, the 3 things she told me were:
I use Nordic Naturals DHA for my fish oil, it's the one the American Pregnancy Association recommends. I buy it on Amazon for cheaper than the Nordic Naturals website sells it for.

Thanks ladies!
I've taken these throughout my pregnancy. I haven't eaten perfectly, but not brutally either. After bloodwork for GD etc at 28 weeks my MW couldn't believe how great all of my counts/levels were this late in pregnancy. I don't know if the vitamins were the ultimate reason (I started taking them well before TTC) but I'm sure they were contributors!
