Pooping only if I hold her...

My DD has been potty trained for over a year. She just turned three. Initially she had a really hard time going number two in the potty and after a lot of issues with holding it in she started going # 2 regularly in the potty but only if I hold her. It has to be a specific type of holding with me sitting directly in front of her and basically hugging her for the entire process until she is done. We have been doing this for almost a year now and every time I ask her to try going on her own, even with me in the room and holding her hand she will scream and will not go. She has no problem going #1 by herself. Any ideas? Suggestions? TIA

    We had to do that for a while, we also had major poop issues.  We progressed to holding hands.  We're at the point that sometimes she still needs company, but more and more often she asks for "privacy".  We had an open door policy in our bathroom while she was right in the middle of PLing, but now DH and I are modeling the need to poop on our own.  It's a slow process, but we're getting there.
