Nightime feedings ?

DD has been sleeping pretty well at night.  She gets a bath around 8, a bottle, and usually falls asleep by 9.  Once she's asleep she goes into her snuggie (swaddle blanket) and is put directly into her crib.  She will usually only wake up once- anywhere from 2-4:30 am.  Recently, it seems like she doesnt want much to eat and will waste most of the formula in the bottle.  She will have a few sips then fall back asleep (goes back in her crib and sleeps till 7-8 am).

Do you think she could go without the tiny snack and just get rocked back to sleep?  Or perhaps give her the paci if she gets grumpy?  I feel as if she;s ready to sleep through the night but wakes herself up out of habit and not to eat necessarily.

Any suggestions?  Anyone have this happen?  If so, what did you do?

  • Im a FTM here, so still experimenting with this..but I think if she has only a few sips, I dont see why you cant try to give her the paci instead, or try other ways to put her back to sleep. My LO is a good night sleeper for the most part, but he is hungry when he wakes up at night, he takes a full 5oz bottle when/if he wakes up. So I know he is hungry, but yours might just need you to soother her back to sleep. I would try it, its not that those sips will make a huge difference in her health.

  • There was a post about this a couple days ago. LO has been doing this for a few days. Someone suggested using paci... but last night I just rocked her back to sleep. HELLO 7 hrs of sleep! Might as well give it a try!

  • Hmm... I think we'll give it a try then! Smile  She's giving us a good 6 hours now, but the extra 3 added might be nice!

    Thanks Ladies!
