My RE has me doing PIO shot in the morning right now and 1 prometrium supp at night. Transfer is on thursday and I continue the same protocol until my beta. If I am pg, they want me to do the PIO shot in the morning plus 3 prometrium supps (1 morning, 1 noon, 1 night).
Does that sound like a whole heck of a lot of progesterone? What was your protocal before and after your beta? Thanks!
ETA: My PIO shot is 1ml daily
Re: If you did PIO and got pg come in...
This. But my shot was at night.
Do you have a history of low progesterone at all? That is the only thing I can think of to warrant all this progesterone. When I did PIO I just did one shot a night and then I would have continued the same shot when pregnant.
I did prometrium for my successful cycle and just did the 3 supps. 3x a day until 7 weeks when my progesterone tested really good and they had me stop.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

My protocol was the same except I did my PIO in the evening (personal preference, my RE didn't care what time of day I did it as long as I did it every 24 hours) and I continued until I was 12 weeks pregnant. I think I did 1 cc daily (if I recall correctly).
5 REs + 3 surgical hysteroscopies for septum/lap + 3 failed IUIs

Thankful for every day
I dunno by I think my nurse is crazy. I'm going to reconfirm.

This was my protocol from transfer until 12 weeks. I had a history of dropping progesterone, so he wanted to be sure
I did PIO once a day (at night) but took 2ml. That was a clinic standard. I'm unfamiliar with the supps so maybe it would even out to about 2ml?
I did PIO until 13 weeks.
I was on 1.5ml for most of that time (it was an FET, I have low P4, and had just had a m/c on supps alone), maybe they can just up your PIO and you can do fewer/no supps. GL!

I think it's relevant whether you do an FET or fresh IVF. FETs require more progesterone supplementation than a fresh IVF because you don't have the whole ovulation process telling your body to make its own progesterone.
I don't know what my dose will be, but I know that I have to take it until 16 weeks if I'm pregnant.
This. I was on much less P4 for my fresh cycle than for my FET.
