Success after IF

Recommend your highchairs, please!

Well, not YOUR highchairs, but your LO's highchairs :)

I'm a huge fan of Chicco, so I've been eyeing up the Chicco Polly highchairs. But, I think I remember some complaints about cleaning ease when used to lurk on SAIF while I was on PAIF.

What do you have and what are the pros and cons?

Thanks in advance!

  • I love our FP space saver highchair. Attaches right to our existing chair. :)

  • We have a Peg Perego.  I believe it's called the Primi Pappa.  I really like it but have to explain it was a gift bought for us when C was born (we didn't register for it or choose any high chair, this one was just gifted to us).  I liked the look of it.  It's very neutral in color so doesn't clash as much as some of our other baby gear (is an oatmeal color on a faux leather material).  The material makes it easy to clean and the chair is on wheels so can move (from dining room to kitchen, for ex) and can also recline.  It's lasted through 1 and we're using with our 2nd now and I have no complaints.

We have this one as well... I loved it (we now use a different booster seat for DD).

  • Since all I have is a dining room with fabric chairs, I opted out of the space saver and got a graco contempo high chair. I loved it. Padding removed for cleaning and the attached snack tray kept my squirmy son from getting out before I could faten the buckles. At my moms house, she had a FP but I was not crazy how the tray fit, it never felt secure. My MIL has a space saver from FP and it really is a great chair to use if you do not have fabric chairs underneath!
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I should add that we also used on these as a booster/highchair as well when DD wasn't solely in her highchair anymore.  It was great to allow her to eat with us but also keep her strapped in (once they become mobile, it's often difficult to get them to stay seated for a whole meal).

  • I have a Chicco Polly, love it.. It folds up nice even though I don't fold it.. And has the vial not cloth sea which makes cleaning up super easy. It had taken a lot of abuse from Jake and the dogs an it still looks new..
  • Don't get the Eddie Bauer one.  I went for looks, not practicality.  It looked nice and cleaned up ok, but didn't last a year and a half.  The stain had worn in places and you could see it when you would wipe it.  The part that holds the child's feet had worn, too.

  • Ours is baby trend.  It was a gift and it matched everything else we got.  So far I love it.  It folds up so it's not in the way and the tray had an insert that snaps on and off for easy clean up. It also has shoulder straps that came in handy when DS was still super tiny but ready to sit up and eat.

I have that one too and it's fantastic!  Several of my Mom friends say they wish they had gotten it.  I really like that it can stand on it's own when you fold it and it's so easy to clean.  He's really comfy in it too.  I haven't even used the tray yet.

I would go check them out and not order them online.  Some look good but are annoying in person.

  • We have the Peg Perego Tatamia.  PROS:  Neutral color, good looking design, SMALL footprint, easy to maneuver, does not seem to allow much food to fall to the lap, good size tray but easily fits in our d/w. Can scoot right up to the table instead of using tray if we want to make our DS feel more included at meals. CONS, etc: $$$$, Never even used the manual "swing" conversion which is supposedly the big draw, and the straps were way too long when baby was still an infant, even when adjusted as small as possible.

  • P.S.:  We took DS with us when we bought it, so we could "test drive" a number of models we were interested in. Highly recommend doing this so you can see how well YOUR baby fits in each.  They are def. not One Size Fits All.

Also, left out that ours is relatively easy to clean.
