sposie sticker shock!

I have a "sprinkle" luncheon to go to this weekend for a friend, it was suggested that we bring diapers & wipes if we wanted to gift anything as this is her 2nd child.  I was in Walmart picking up some photos when I thought I'd pop over to the baby section to grab a pack of diapers for her, they have to be cheap at Walmart right?  I guess I've never really looked at the price of diapers before, because man did I have sticker shock!  I couldn't bring myself to do it... I found a nice gift pack of Burt's Bee's trial size toiletries for her hospital stay instead, for 1/2 the price of a pack of diapers!!  I figured that would be a more exciting sprinkle gift if it were me.  Embarrassed

    Yep.  My husband has a cousin that is only like 16... last time we saw her she was looking at my son's CDs and asked how much they were.  I told her usually between $25 - $40 (for WAHM AI2s and fitteds).  She was like "OMG, that is so expensive."  I laughed and asked her if she had ever looked at the price of sposies.  She admitted she had not.  She was floored when I clued her in.

    We somehow went through an entire 40 pack of sposies in two days when he had a rash. Granted, we were changing him more often because of his rash, but it was so obvious he was uncomfortable whenever I felt the squish that I had to change him right away. I couldn't imagine spending that money every week.
