My bump is finally noticable! :) (& weight question)

I rarely post, but lurk often. However, I have to share how excited I am - today is the first day that everyone noticed my little bump! I was so proud! Now, if she would only start moving!

Also, anyone else have trouble/not gain weight for a while? I am almost 18 weeks and have yet to gain 1 pound. At my last appt (14 weeks) my OB was not concerned, but I am starting to at this point. I feel like I eat all of the time - like graze all day! Anyone else not gain weight at this point (18 weekish)?

Weight gain varies widely by person and pregnancy and depends a lot on where you are starting from. I didn't gain much until just the last few weeks. I was told if the baby/ies are measuring fine, not to worry about it since it will come with time.

I'm due Jan 28th and people are finally starting to notice my bump too! It's so exciting, isn't it!?

I'm not the person to talk to about lack of weight gain though. At my last appt (14wks) I had gained 5lbs, so I certainly don't have a problem putting on weight

I was just in last week at 17 wks, 4 days and hadn't gained a single pound yet either. OB wasn't concerned at all, as long as I was taking in enough nutrients for baby and I.

Yay for a bump! As for the weight, it's going to vary person to person, depending on where you started off (under/normal/overweight) and probably a ton of other factors. I didn't start gaining anything until maybe 21 weeks or so.

Me! I've only gained a pound since pre-IVF and maybe two down since BFP. My OB was ok since my uterus and baby seem to be growing fine.
I'm very conscious of my water intake, plenty of protein and I remind myself to eat/snack every two or three hours. I think it's just a matter of time before the scale starts moving.
I can also see a little bump now. Smile

yay for your bump!!! It makes it so much more real

And don't worry about the weight, I JUST started gaining weight and it's only been 2 lbs. so far. My doc saw me yesterday and didn't even bring it up. Everyone is different!

exciting you are showing!! as for weight gain, i would agree with PP's that it varies person to person. i am only up 8 lbs and total (2 of which i just gained in past 2 weeks) my OB was concerned early on but is ok with it now that she sees the baby is doing great. good luck!

I didn't really gain much until about 20 weeks. The suddenly I started to put weight on and now I am right where I should be. Don't stress about it. Everyone is different and gains weight at different times.
