Team Blue VS. Team Pink: Hair growth?

Okay, I just have to know. I've heard before that women who are pregnant with boys experience more of an increase in hair growth than women who are pregnant with girls. What do you ladies think?

I know it is probably just one of those old wives tales, but after being pregnant with a girl (that I lost in March) and now a boy, I'm going to have to say I agree to some extent. I'm so freaking hairy. It is coming in darker and thicker all over my body. I'm a fair-skined blonde with light green eyes, but the rest of me is looking a little...sasquatch. Dark hairs are popping up on my upper lip, chin, around my nipples, out of moles (so gross), and I have gone from shaving once every few days to at least once a day. I did not have any of this with my first pregnancy.

What about you? Team pink or team blue, and how is the hair situation? Even if you don't know what team you are yet, I'm still curious about the hair growth to see how it plays out when you do know!

  • I don't know yet, but I will be curious to know if this is somewhat true.  My hair has grown so much in the last couple of months.  I keep getting comments about long my hair is.  And last night as my husband was rubbing my tummy he said that I had alot of new hair on my tummy.  Which I do (I was kinda hoping he wouldn't notice) LOL!!  I would love to have a boy, so I can't wait to see what everyone else says about this theroy.

  • With DD1 I really didn't experience any changes in my hair (nor did I feel like I lost a lot of hair after she was born).  My hair is the same this time, so hopefully it's another girl!  We are team green so I won't know until the end.

  • I'm having a boy---and I can go a week+ without having to shave. It's not the prettiest thing ever, but it's no different than pre-pregnancy!

  • When I was pregnant with my son my hair was so thick and luxurious (a TON fell out after he was born though) this time around I don't know what I'm having yet but my hair looks and feels like cr*p, my sister (who has 3 girls and 1 boy) swears this means I'm having a girl.  We shall see!

I had great hair with my son too! It was thick and shiny - OMG I loved it. This time - limp and dull! We find out Friday so I guess we shall see.

  • With DD, I RARELY had to shave.  It was freakin' awesome!

This time, they guessed boy at our NT Scan, and I literally have to shave every other day...if not EVERY day!  It's NUTS!  The hair on my head is growing much quicker, too.  It'll be interesting if this LO is confirmed as a boy at our a/s!

  • I'm team pink and haven't seen any change in hair growth - positive or negative. Hoping my head hair will grow a lot cuz I don't like my current haircut! ;)

  • Hrm i'm unsure about this ..

when i was pregnant with DS.. i totally stopped having to shave my legs .. (I'm Native Canadian so i'm not that hairy to begin with really..)

but for a few months i didn't have any hair growth on my legs.. which was nice .. I didn't want to have to shave :)

So either the myth is just a myth.. or I'm an exception cause i had a boy and NO extra hair growth

  • I don't know what I'm having but I'm finally growing more hair on my head.  I had 3 surgeries in one year and I have a reaction to anesthisa so each time I lost more and more hair.  My pics from last year look like I'm bald on top. Now I've gotten all this growth, but it's short and frizzy.  It looks like I have a fro around my head, but at least I don't look bald:)

I have also had laser hair removal but it's looking like it was a waste of money!!
