I am just so disappointed and hurt w/ my in-laws, especially for my dh. My in-laws are pretty much going on vacation every summer for several months and leaving their responsibilities to their 2 sons, including a dog, their apt bldg which they are renting out upstairs, and the usual mail/bills  and such.  And to top it off my dh and BIL have another bldg that the two of them own and operate.  Neither we or my BIL live near my in-laws any more. Currently my BIL is not working, so gee how convenient for them. My MIL thinks her single son (BIL)  is depressed and expects us to check in on him ALL the time. If you are so concerned about your son, get your boottie back here and keep him company. After all, he may lose his house , cuz he?s out of a job.!!!

 

 

My dh just blew up at her and told her she needs to take care of their responsibilities.  He told her it?s his happy time right now and they just dump on their kids.  We never ask them for anything. My dh is hurt they are not here to share in his joy as a new dad and to top it off they always call and give orders?

 

Of course, there?s even more to this story. I learned a lot about my MIL when she came along with us during my LO?s adoption out of state. She was so concerned with wrapping up the paperwork, so she can get ready for her vacation. I was just shocked at that point.  Don?t tell me you?ve been waiting forever for a grandchild, because you certainly don?t act like it??Talk about selfish....I was just disgusted...

 

Just unacceptable?

After 7 years of marriage and 5 unsuccessful IVFs, we have been granted the gift of adopting a baby boy, born 4/21/11.

    I'm sorry that you guys are having such issues with them!  must be really frustrating!

    Sorry you are dealing with this. I found my relationship with my ILs changed after Eliza was born, too and not for the better. (((HUGS)))

    In-laws are hard.  I'm sorry yours are expecting so much and yet giving so little.  I'm still working on accepting mine for how they are and trying to not get too upset over things I can't change.  It's hard though.

    Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
