Ummm...I think MH might be a dum-dum

We were talking about the birth and labor and I mentioned that  friends of ours had a midwife and not an ob for their daughter's birth. He got this shocked look on his face and said "Wow I didn't think Ms. Friend and Mr. Friend were into that stuff", which was strange because our friends are kind of hippies, so I kept saying how midwives are getting more popular now, etc. He kept saying things like "I know they do that in Utah but not in NY, I can't believe it, are you sure?". I then realized he thought I was talking about sister-wives- like polygamists!!!!! He had never heard of a midwife. I had to explain what they were to him. He actually thought our friends were polygamists! Who did I marry?

    LOL my DH didn't know what a midwife was either (he first heard of them at our birthing class, same with a doula- which is much more understandable)

    LMAO! My DH is a dum dum when it comes to babies also...he seriously thought  pack n play was something you packed the baby in to play with while you are driving or whatever lol.
