Success after IF

What type of sleep sack did your 8-12 month old wear?

I am needing to get a bigger sleep sack and wondering if there are any other options than halo.  I am looking for something warm as we are in Minnesota and it will be be getting cold here very soon.  Thanks for you help!

  • I had a few sleep slacks with sleeves from Carters that I prefered over halo for the winter. My house is really drafty so I was concerned his arms would be cold in just the sleep sacj.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I actually saw some cute ones yesterday at Target by Carters. :)

  • We have some Carter's fleece with sleeves and the Target version (Just One Year). Both of them only went up to size 9m, which would be too small. Not sure if they make bigger ones now -- that was 3 years ago. The Carter's was a bit nicer (softer, thicker) than the Target version.

We also have a sleeveless fleece sack from Halo, and it's very thick and warm (plus in bigger sizes).

  • We used the halo fleece ones last winter.  DS's room is cold, so last winter he actually slept in a 2 piece Carter's sleep set + fleece footed pjs + fleece sleep sack.  Sounds excessive, but I figured it was like light pjs with 2 blankets and it seemed to do the trick.

This - except I was only able to find those sleep sacks for up to 9 months.  No idea what I'll do this winter !

  • I got a few of the Carters "sleeping bags" I think they are called as a gift.  They had the fleece sleeves on them.  They were 6-12 month size and they were from Target.  I've also seen them at BuyBuyBaby if you have one in your area.

  • We had two extra warm sleepsacks that we used in the colder months....one was by Petit Bateau and one was by Jacadi.  I'm on my iphone so can't include URLs but if you google them, you can find them.  They are on the pricey side but I got our Petit Bateau one on sale and the Jacadi one was given to me by a friend whose boys' had outgrown theirs.  I'm sure you could find some good deals on google/ebay.  Anyway, they were definitely warm and cozy - I wanted to sleep in them!

  • We have just stuck with the Halo ones...   I love their luxe boa and fleece for extra warmth.

  • My LO is 18m, and we also live in MN.  He has been sleeping in Halo sleepsacks since he was born (swaddle version for the first few months).  Last winter when he was in the same age range you as asking about, 8-12m, he slept in either a fleece or velboa halo sleepsack, with Halo's Technical Comfort clothing underneath (which has now been replaced with ComfortLuxe, but has the same properties).  The fabric is awesome - it actually helps regulate LO's body temp, keeping them warmer when its cool and cooler when it's hot.  Great jammies, especially for MN winters.  I definitely recommend sticking with the Halo ones.  They are also super easy to add layers underneath, and keep in mind to be careful to not overheat LO as well.

  • I forgot to add that once your LO grows out of the size medium (6-12m), Halo also makes them with footholes, called Early Walker.  That's what my LO wears now at 18m.
