Ultrasound # 7 on Wed....

Going for another u/s this week to check baby's growth as I was measuring 32-33wks at 28wks. I don't have gest. diabetes and at last u/s there wasn't excess amniotic fluid. Thank Goodness I live in Canada and don't have to pay for u/s's! Not that I'm complaining - it's great seeing LO grow like a weed. :) Just really really hope I don't end up with a 10lb baby or more because I don't want to go for a c-section if I don't have to! Wish me luck :)

Re: Ultrasound # 7 on Wed....

  • Wow, that is a few weeks ahead! Usually I only hear of someone measuring a week or so ahead. Is there any chance your ovulation date was miscalculated? Sounds like it's a good thing they are doing lots of ultrasounds. In Europe, where I live I have an ultrasound on every visit too!

  • wow!! 7 ultra-sounds! i have never heard of anything like that prob because im here in the states. thats really alot. were you having problems with the baby??
  •  I am in Canada too and the only people I know who have more than 2 u/s are under private care or considered high risk. Maybe you have a Dr with some good connections?! Hope all goes well.
  • Good luck!  I've had 6 ultrasounds and have #7 next week.  Most of mine are to check for growth too but I have the opposite problem--measuring a week behind :)  Some of them have been routine.  I'll probably have 8-9 total before it's all said and done.

  • I think I've had about 5 and I'm having a totally healthy, normal pregnancy with the exception that I hardly ever feel my LO move.  He is measuring perfectly though :)

  • I've had four u/s and the only reason I had the two "extras" was because at 12 weeks they couldn't find his heartbeat although they could hear the swooshing of movement from him.  Then I had one at 26 weeks because they wanted to make sure my placenta had moved from my cervix and it wasn't growing into my c-section scars...

  • I had a dating u/s at 6-8 wks, then anatomy at 18wks but they couldn't see everything they wanted to, so went back for another. They then found a thickened nuchal fold, so I had to see a perionatologist and have another scan. At 26 weeks I had another scan to check for excess amniotic fluid and on the next day I had a 3D/4D scan.. So that makes 6? Tomorrow is the 7th to check how big baby is because I'm measuring 4-5wks ahead...

There is no way it's miscalculated because my hubby is only home every 2 weeks... and in Jan/Feb the baby dance wasn't done on a regular basis :) So that narrows it down to a few specific days.
