I'm starting my nanny search and am curious if you made it a mandetory to have experience with multiples. Also, any questions that you can think of I need to ask that are specifically related to multiples?

I've never had a nanny, but I've also never had multiples before now either and it's working. So I would say excluding a well qualified nanny just because she doesn't have multiple experience could be mean your missing out on your perfect nanny. HTH

I would not make it a must as 90% of nannies do not have multiple experience. I would think infant experience is more important.

I put it as required, I think. And I did find the perfect nanny with experience. However, I would've taken someone that didn't have it, but had plenty of infant experience. The way I saw it was that someone with ANY experience had more experience than I did at the time! :-) Just go with your gut once you start interviewing. GL!

We did not require multiples experience, and we found the most amazing, wonderful, perfect nanny that I treasure. She could not be more capable (sometime I feel like even more so than me) at taking care of multiples and my kids adore her.

I agree with PP - absolutely go with your gut. And check every single reference. Good luck.

You know I tried interviewing people that have had experience with more than one young child and it just didn't work for me. Especially when they were 3 months old but when they were 13 months old as well. We interviewed one girl who actually asked me how you feed 2 at one time...and that just wasn't going to cut it for me. I am sure she would have figured it out in time, but really I needed peace in my mind and heart when I went back to work. I needed someone who knew what they were doing and that I didn't have to worry. My nanny had a lot of twin experience and thank god because she taught me so much in those first few months. She really saved me. I would say if you find a candidate who you think you might like but doesn't have twin experience...talk to her and perhaps meet with her. I gave it a shot but it just didn't work for me. I preferred multiple experience. Good luck1

I thought it would have been necessary but it hasn't been. The two most wonderful people that have helped us out with our kids have not had any multiples experience.
