For the past two weeks I have to be sticking my fingers 4 times per day to test my blood sugar level along with following a diet sheet. It's frustrating but at least I don't have to be on insulin. Is there anyone out there who has this?? (GDD). I have 56 dys more to go. My baby boy is so active and I cannot wait to meet him on the outside.

Me!
Believe me when I say I know the feeling. Half the time my numbers are really low and I think "Well, I probably could have had (Whatever) with dinner then." And yeah, my fingers are a bit tender, but you do what you have to. I just keep reminding myself that shortly I will have my LO squirming on the outside instead of the inside!
I have it too! I have to test 6 times a day though, before and after each meal.
my numbers are pretty good except when I'm stressed out...even my doctor noticed and said it was incredible HOW affected I get. sigh...potty training, and my parents being here...and my friend having a baby early...and so on...DR. was like...just get more physical activity in to control the stress...yeah..when? oh well...
I'm still also morning sick most days, so my challenge has been finding "good" foods that stay down. ....DH has been good for me...making sure I am eating in the healthy range, but sometimes I just tear up because I want something that is definitely on the no-go list.
Well...there's only a few weeks left, so I'm glad this will end in a baby!
I've got it as well. Luckily, I've been able to control it with diet, so no insulin and my numbers have stayed the same since I started testing, so looks like I ight get through the next few weeks without meds
There are plenty of GD mommys on the high risk board. They have a lot to offer! GL!
Same here! I have actually stopped testing on the weekends and just test Monday through Friday. I am completely controlled with diet alone. In fact, I hardly had to change my diet; I just had to add in more protein. I don't see the dietician anymore and haven't even faxed my log to them. I haven't had any high numbers so I feel it's not necessary for me to meet with them. Especially since the nurse is a royal B***H!!!
Hang in there. Only a few weeks left and you can get back to eating whatever you want. I plan on having a huge plate of french toast with fresh blueberries from a local cafe. I've been dreaming about it lately!!!

I'm going through it for the second time. Little did I know that they would test me so early this time! I'm not due until December 9th and my doctor actually put me back on the diet after I failed the 1 hour test at the beginning of July.
It does become almost like second nature after you've done it for a few weeks. In fact, it may almost seem weird after the baby is born and everything goes back to normal.
It is worth it though! Besides taking care of your own health, your baby needs this. Mine first son was born at 6 lbs 12 oz and had no trouble with low sugar levels. 32 months later, he still amazes me every day! I can't wait to meet his little brother!
If you need somebody to "talk" to, let me know. I definitely know what you're going through as I'm on the same journey (again)! Good luck!
