Newborn Pics

I'm planning on doing my announcements as Christmas cards and just started thinking about scheduling newborn pics. Have any of you done this yet or started thinking about it? I need to research photogs but I don't want to miss out and not get them done esp since it will be busy around the holidays.

    We scheduled last month for the last weekend in November. My one requirement was a turnaround of digital files within 7 days so I could make my Christmas cards.

    We are getting newborn pics done.  The photographer I chose, likes to do them between 3-10 days old so we have already booked a prelim appt.  I am really looking forward to them

    One of our good friends is a photographer, so I asked her if she would be willing to do them. She will be in Mexico the second week in November so depending on when baby arrives we either do them the first week in November (I am due on 11/1) or the 3rd week in November.

    Well with most photographers, you can't "schedule" a newborn session since you don't know when they will be born.  But I did find a photographer who is going to do my maternity and newborn photos as a package.  So we booked the maternity session for October and then the photographer has my due date penciled in and she'll just wait for my call/email after the baby is born.

    My hospital has a contact with a photographer to do a newborn session just after they are born. I've looked at the portfolio and they are very nice, so we will probably just purchase those. You may want to see if your hospital has the same service?

    Photographers are usually busier in the spring/summer. Fall is when most summer couples get their wedding photos.

    My wedding photographer is amazing, but way too expensive for a photo shoot! My husband does hobby photography so he can do some shots.

    My wedding photographer is going to do them, and I do have it tentatively scheduled.  She's also a friend, though, so she'll be very flexible with us.  I love her :)

    Ours recommends doing them within the first week they are born so we have an "open" appointment for the week after my due date during the week. Just not sure how well I"ll be doing that week after a c-section.

    My newborn session is booked. We just call the photographer as soon as the baby is born and she wants them done no later than 10 days so baby is still in the curled in the fetal position.

    DH and I are both photographers so we have a lot of friends who are too. One of our friends is doing baby's 6 day old photos as our gift. she specializes in infant portraiture so i'm very excited!
