So frustrated

I just called the nurse hotline because I've been having bad back pain for a week and also a dull uncomfortable feeling by my left ovary. She basically told me to try a heating pad, Tylenol, and drink more water. It's not that I'm dehydrated because I go to the bathroom every 15 minutes. She said there is nothing they can do right now without trying those things first. Ok, fine. Then I ask her about my first apt which is tomorrow... I thought I was having blood work done.... Nope just a pregnancy confirmation...peeing on a stick! I am so frustrated because I just want to know all is ok. Some of this is stemming from the pain I am having and some because I had a loss last month. Ugh I just want some answers. Has anyone else been through this with dr's?

with my dr a confirmation includes an internal u/s. if yours doesn't usually include that perhaps they will to ease your mind. no harm in asking if you're worried.

I felt the same way. I was excited for my first appointment and all they did is explain their practice and confirm that I was pregnant. I was hoping for so much more. I also had some back pain at first. I think I was sleeping funny due to the fact that I can't sleep on my stomach anymore b/c my breasts hurt so bad. I also had some cramping that I was worried about but I guess it's normal. I think you should check with your insurance before you ask for an US. Some don't cover one until a certain month and you don't want to get stuck with the bill.

Um, I always heard heating pad was a big no no?!? I'd double check that information, she did know you were pregnant right and not just experiencing some weirdo situation?
