Success after IF

when did you introduce chicken, meat, fish?

And, did you do jarred food or broken up bits of the protein?  I did Earth's Best jarred meals when introducing meat, chicken to my older daughter but don't have access to that any longer (live overseas).  My pedi wants me to start introducing these proteins and recommended pureeing the meats myself but I'd rather just hold off and introduce small bits when L can gum them.  When was that for your little ones?

  • We introduced meats at 6 months when she started eating solids. There is no reason to give purees first. If you want to go straight to bits of meat, that is fine! That is what we did with Maya (BLW) and she did great with it. I would just break up the bits or cut them into long strips she could pick up and gum herself.

  • We did meats around 10-11 months. I make my own baby food so I bought organic stuff and just pureed them. Around 12 months I gave Beau organic sliced turkey cut into pieces and he can gum that.
