I was just talking with my ob doctor yesterday and we have decided on a scheduled C-section the week of Nov. 14th sometime if I don't go before on my own. The birth date 11-11-11 would be really fun I think!
I'm due 11/18/11, but my midwife said that it looked like I was measuring earlier than that, so I've got my fingers crossed that they'll up my due to date to 11/11/11!!
We've had a few conversations about 11.11.11 on here, and there's quite a few of us (including me) that have EDD. According to my Dr there are a bunch of people who have scheduled c-sections that day just for the reason of the date, so I'm happy for LO to come any other time - Hopefully then the maternity ward won't be overflowing! Maybe it's my first-time-Mum nervousness kicking in (!!)
I'd be nervous it would be way too busy in L&D that day b/c of people scheduling for that date. My last baby was born on 9-8-09 so I think it would be funny if this one came on 11-10-11
I'm due 11/11/11 and he's measuring perfectly to the date...but I never thought about it this way. Now I'm a little worried about how busy it might be here, especially considering the number of births they have at the hospital I'm at (highest birth rate in the military). I guess I'll just be happy to have him come when he's healthy and ready.
Though I do plan on drinking rasberry leaf tea, eating tons of eggplant and pineapple and running a half marathon the day before to speed things up a little

I will happily welcome LO into the world whenever he decides to make his entrance... however I'm really hoping that he doesn't decide to come on 11/11/11... I don't want to be in L&D with the ridiculous amount of women who have scheduled themselves for that date

ETA: 11/11 actually has 1 additional appeal. It's Veteran's Day, which is actually a paid holiday for me and hubby. But still. I think I'd rather hold out for a different date.

I with PPs about 11/11/11 being an awfully common and busy day to have a baby. I'm great with not going in on that day. And really, should all of our LOs be born in Nov., they are all going to have a pretty cool bday being 11/??/11, whatever day it happens.

My due date is 11-11-11... I have had strangers literally *scream* when they hear that!! Haha! It would be so cool if that is the date I actually have the baby on... not holding my breath, but keeping my fingers crossed!
I am really hoping to schedule for 11/11/11 not because of the date, but because it works out perfectly for DH's schedule to be able to maximize his time off and stay with me longer to help take care of DS #1 while I recover from my c-section. Plus I already have Friday's off so I could potentially work right up until that date and get a full paycheck.
I'm not that worried about it being super busy. The hospital only schedules as many c-sections as they can handle in a day so yeah it might be a full schedule, but it's not like they are going to overbook the entire maternity ward just to accomodate people who want to have their babies that day! It also depends on which dr's are doing surgery that day and who your dr is as to whether you can even get that day.
I'm due 11~11~11 also and never though about how busy it might be in labor and delivery! Our L&D Unit only has 11 rooms and the oldest child and family move up to peds. My thought on scheduling a c-section that day is that unless it's medically necessary, you're just being selfish. I don't understand why someone would intentionially get pregnant but refuse to go through labor. I understand that is not ture of all women getting c-sections on or around that day. And if you medically need one and you get to choose that day then wonderful for you! I guess my hormones are winning this battle, and I get pissed off pretty easily : /...Sorry!

I'm due 11-2, so I was thinking 11-1 would be good (I don't want Halloween either). I really would like 11-11 though because of the date and also because our anniversary is 11-13 and my husband's birthday is 11-15, so it would be two days out from that too. What's one more thing in November, I figure -- it's like the busiest month for b-days/etc for our families (sister in law, cousin, niece, stepmom, brother bdays...).

I think it would be cool, but nothing I'll strive for. If I go overdue again my induction date will be 11/15 which is mine and DH's 13 year anniversary of when we first started dating so that would be cool.
