Nervous...

I'm getting more and more nervous as it gets closer to the time of my showers. I guess because I have to be in front of soooo many people! I HATE being the center of attention. But i'm also excited to get more cute baby stuff!! Anyone else feeling nervous?

    You know, at almost every shower I've been a part of the MTB has never been up on a platform (except one) so even though you are the "guest of honor" people are busy doing other things (eating, talking, playing games, etc).  The only time people are sort of paying attention is during the gift opening.  Don't be nervous.  Just remember that all of those people there love you and wish you the best and are as excited as you are.

    Yeah, I have to admit I'm kind of nervous about mine. My shower's going to be all-inclusive -- my family, husband's family, and both of our friends, so it's a lot of people from very different groups coming together. I worry a little bit about the group dynamics.

    And I feel nervous for other people, too -- like my dad and my sister and my brother-in-law, who are all very shy people, and I'm sure they'd prefer to just have an immediate-family shower. (When my sister and my BIL came to our housewarming party a few years ago, I found them hiding in our empty spare bedroom so as to avoid mingling with the other guests.) I'm glad that my friends who are hosting the shower have planned some games and activities, so that there's not so much eating-and-mingling time.

    I'm also excited to get cute baby stuff, though. ;) There are a lot of things we've held off on buying because we want to see if we receive it from the shower.

    I'm with you. I've been offered a shower but I'm really hestiant to accept because of my hate of the whole process. I hate being the center of attention too and I myself have never been a big shower lover. I feel guilty for having people take time out of their schedules to come to an event like this. People tell me I'm being silly... But I FEAR the shower. lol. Like you though, it would be awesome to get some baby gifts and I know certain family members are looking forward to such an event.

    I'm always nervous when it comes to this stuff. You'll have fun though, people will chatter and carry on. You'll have fun :)
