When and where did you go first when you left the house with your little one? Also if it was family or a neighbors house, when did you first go to a store with LO? Do not include doctors visits. And is this your first, second, third, etc?
Our first non-doctor adventure was to the mall for lunch and shopping. We waited until DD was about 4 weeks old to take the trip. She was great! Since then, we've gone to friends' houses, grandma's house, and the beach.
we haven't taken our guy to a store yet, but started neighborhood walks at one week. will take this guy to the mountains to join a family vacation (about 1.5 hours from here) when he is 3 weeks this coming weekend.
I'm a FTM, and DH took 2 weeks off work so it was easiest for one of us to run out and buy things when we needed something.
On our way home from the hospital we stopped somewhere for lunch, then went to DH's work. The next day I was at my work to let DD play at the school's playground. We were out pretty much every day.
Yesterday DS was 5 days old, and it was technically a doctor day but we also ran a couple errands around town with him (DH's work, pharmacy, lunch). He fussed a bit but was awesome in the car (no surprise since we've been a family of truck drivers for over 50 years lol). This is my first baby so I was nervous. I also had to change two diapers in our back seat while waiting for DH to come out of an appointment that took longer than we expected.

Let me just start by saying that if I had felt up to it, I would have taken DS out of the house the day he was born (we were discharged when he was 14 hours old). When he was 5 days old I took him with me to get my haircut at a salon, at 6 days I took him to meet the ladies in my barbershop chorus, at a week old we took him grocery shopping.
The way I looked at it, I am BFing, so LO has my immunities.
The day we came home from the hospital, we stopped at DH's work and then went to the grocery store. With DD, we went to my parents house the day we left the hospital and probably went to the store the next day. We are all about getting out with our kids.
Thanks ladies! I took LO to Babies R Us yesterday and was hesitant to go to lunch with my mom, so we got carryout. Today I went to Target by myself with my 12 day old and UPS to drop something off. I wasn't sure if I was putting my baby girl in a bad position outside of our house. I just kept the car seat shade up the whole time so people really couldn't even see her let alone get close to touch her.
I had an extremely long labor followed up by some stitches, so I wasn't up to going anywhere for a few weeks.
I think it was around 4 weeks when I finally felt up to venturing out. It was to Chick-Fil-A and the grocery store. I sat in a nice padded booth and we walked slow.
This is my first kid. The first place I took him was to the airport to pick up my mom. The second place was to my work. Both were within a few days of me taking him home from the NICU.

We went out to lunch, BRU, and the mall (in desperate need of a nursing bra!) when DD was 3 days old. I had been on bed rest in the hospital for 18 days before she was born. I couldn't wait any longer to get some things done!
I think our first trip out of the house was to my parents' house when she was a few days old. I guess it was at the end of that week that she had her first trip through Target. First and only child!
This is my second. My DH and I went out to lunch with DS2 on day 6 (DS1 is at daycare during the week). With DS1, we probably didn't go out until week 4 because I was breastfeeding. I was paranoid about nursing in public. With my trusty cover, I feel that I can go anywhere with DS2.

With LO #1 it was to Big Lots (LOL) with him and my mom at 12 days old.
With LO #2 it was out to lunch (again with my mom...she flew in for both births) at 5 days old.
Our family blog
Our first outing was to the grocery store on the way home from the hospital. Mommy needed meds and lunch.
She came home on a friday...we went to Target on Tuesday.
This is my second, but my first was stillborn.
To my mom's house about 40 mins away. The first store we went to was BJ's and that was after his 2 month shots.
