Is this NORMAL??!!! Reese has been a freaking mess all morning (she is finally sleeping now, thank GOD!) Seriously though, I'm beginning to think something is wrong, so please tell me it's normal! She woke up at 6:30am, drank her bottle and laid in bed with me watching Mickey for about 45 min..since then she has been crying/screaming throwing a royal fit about everything I do and try to calm her down. I tried feeding her yogurt, she pitched a fit in the highchair, took her out and she took like 4 more bites and then started screaming "all done" and "down" so I put her down and she screams "up." This process has been over and over for the last 3+ hrs. I sit on the floor with her and try and read books, tried coloring with crayons, tried playing toys and that last for about 30 secs of non-crying and then she throws down the toys, crayons, books, etc and pitches another fit. I tried rocking her in the chair and she is clawing at my face, screaming down and then wants back up again! I know she is teething and even gave some Motrin, but that isn't doing the trick (usually it does.) Try feeding her snacks which she continues to throw on the floor...So I stand and hold her for about 20 min. which did the trick, can't move or she freaks, so here I am standing in one spot and my back is killing me. We go outside (maybe riding in the wagon or bike will do the trick) I'm wrong! In the wagon for 30 secs. and starts arching her back and trying to climb out...then she wants to push the wagon, does that for another 30 secs. and freaks out. (I'm sure my neighbors are watching in horror) We try this with every damn toy we have for outside play (which is a whole garage full) and then same thing, so back inside we go. (Windows are open because it is nice out) And she continues to scream and I have no idea why, I'm holding her again and this woman walking her dog walks by and does the head swirl toward my house with her eyes big as saucers with the WTF look on her face...I'm singing to Reese to get her to calm down, which isn't working, and then I see this lady and seriously about jumped through the window to tell the lady I'M DOING THE BEST I CAN!!!!! Anyways, I put her in her crib and finally had to walk away, actually I really had to pee, so I'm sitting on the toliet crying myself because I can't figure out why my normally very calm, happy girl is a HOT MESS today! I called my DH at work and told him he better not be one second late home from work today because 3 hours of this this AM was rough! Reese cried about 10 min and now is finally passed out in the corner of the crib with her butt in the air....whew!
I guess I needed to vent because I've never had a morning like this and I'm worried that it is more than her teeth. I worked yesterday and my MIL said she didn't nap at all, which pisses me off because, one, she needs her nap and she is usually cranky (but not this bad) the day after because she needs to catch up! SOOOOO....am I'm losing my mind, or is this somewhat normal??!! Have any of you had mornings like this...if she wakes up and the afternoon is like this there is going to be two girls crying when my DH gets home...and I like to think I'm a pretty laid back person that most things don't bother me, but this has got me frazzled, I might need a mid-morning stiff drink (and I dont' drink often at all).
Re: Teething or more??? Vent(long)
glad to help. There are many mornings, such as today, where I just say to Zoey "that's it, you're going back to bed!" and I put her in her crib for some quiet time. Sometimes she's only quiet for 5-10 minutes and then wants to get back up, but it does seem to help her (and me!) to have a little break.
