So confused. My cycle length is 34 days and I ovulate on day 19 or 20. Anyone have this type of cycle? I got a BFP yesterday at 11dpo and rechecked it again today.....I am pregnant!!!!! Question is, if I calculate how many weeks pregnant by be LMP I am 4 weeks, 4 days. If I calculate it using ovulation, I am only 3 weeks 4 days. Three weeks pregnant just sounds weird but that is what I should go with right? Just doesn't seem accurate to use the LMP, as I would be 5 weeks along on Friday, yet conceived only 2 weeks ago.
Re: Ovulate late/cycle length long.
I O'd CD22, a week later then the "normal" CD14, so I go by my O date. I recommend going by O date IF you know you O'd (confirmed by temping). If not stick with LMP and wait until your dating u/s to get a more accurate EDD.
Also, if you know you O'd later, when calling the doctor, if they see you at lets say 6 weeks based on LMP, make the appointment for a week later so you don't freak out if they can't yet see anything or hear the heartbeat yet. Just my opinion.
I O'd on CD32. My OB was going by LMP until an u/s showed otherwise.
Well, u/s only showed off by 6 days, not 8 and OB won't change due dates unless they are 8 or more days off.
I'm also a week later O'er, os I was figuring I'd be a week off from the estimate using lmp. I went for an u/s and the baby was measuring as if I o'd like a normal person. Go figure - I was certain about our O date, but we're using teh lmp date b/c of the baby's measurements.
Like PP said, push your appt a bit just to prevent an uneccesary freak out. GL to you!
I wasn't trying but wasn't preventing when I got PG, so I don't know when ovulated...but I normally have a 32-33 day cycle so I initially went off LMP, which the doctors office did too, since that's all they have to go off of when you call (they will ask about your LMP date). I went in at what I *thought* was 6 weeks, and when they did the sono there was only a sac and that's it. I came back in at 7 weeks 4 days (according to LMP) and baby was measuring 6 weeks 5 days - and they attributed this to my longer cycles.
As pp stated, push back your date do you don't freak. I didn't know all that before or I would have! GL! And congrats!
Surprise BFP# 5 - 9/2/16 - Due 5/13/17
I also ovulated on CD20 and normally have a 33-day cycle. I would definitely go by your O date, not your LMP, as long as you definitely know what day you O'd.
Definitely worth the wait - with my DS my doc had me come in right away (they thought I was 8 weeks even though I told them at the time I had at least a 6 week cycle)... didnt see a damn thing -then had me take a pee test and it came back neg. I was freaking out - sent me for blood work which confirmed I was preg.. but what a frickin nightmare to go through. So, as anxious as I am now to get to the doc - I'm actually in a way glad I have to wait another 3 weeks!
My cycles are usually 6 weeks long. I agree with the others, schedule an appt later and let the doctor know that you have longer cycles. With my first pregnancy, I went in early (they thought I was 8 weeks, I was really 6), and I had to be sent for a transvaginal ultrasound because my doctor couldn't see anything on the portable ultrasound.
This time, I was almost 9 weeks at my first visit so the doctor was easily able to find the baby on the ultrasound and give me an accurate due date.
You never know...you could be wrong. And just because you ovulate on a certian day, doesn't mean that's when you got pregnant. I doubt an over the counter pregnancy test can detect that you are 3 weeks pregnant. Especially considering even at the moment of conseption you are considered 2 weeks pregnant. Just wait until you get an ultrasound and have them meausre the baby. good luck!
