For the last 29 weeks my diet has drastically changed. I went from whole milk, which i absolutely love, to 1% which grew on me. I also cut out my twizzler binges, root beer obsession or just soda in general and im down to any kind of fast food only 2-3 a month. I think im doing pretty good. Plus it wasn't that hard for me to make these changes because nutrition has always been a big deal in my family.
But it just raises my eyebrows in the classic "do smell--- what the rock" glance, when i see people indulging in any and everything! My main concern has def been soda and fast food. not ok to have everyday in my book and i have seen it an awful lot from other pregnant women. i remember many years ago in my 10th grade year one of best friends got kidney stones from drinking soda. And then a few weeks later my cousin started having problems with her kidney's because of soda. And every day those episodes play in mind when i see moms downing cans of sprite and diet pepsi.
And then the other day im at work and customer brings in her baby with her. I guess she was good friends or family with one of my co-workers because she handed the baby right to my co-worker. Mom was tending to her oldest while her friend was sneaking soda to her 10- month year old!!! the fire that burned inside of me made my baby kick. Of course i said something and she started laughing like it was funny. But i couldnt really blame her because she's almost 300 pounds herself. So what does she really know about nutrition. I immediately informed she wont be watching my kids. She laughed and then stick a lolly pop in the babys mouth. smdh. thats all i could do.
I believe i was hippie in my past life. All from the way i dress, view life love and peace and to the way i eat. Life is rich and sweet already. ESPECIALLY when your pregnant, there's no need to artificially in simulate it lmao! but a couple of recees pieces never hurt!!
Re: nutrition: pregnant women and ppl with toddlers
I agree with your statements about giving soda and candy to a baby. That is ridiculous. But, this is the second post where I've seen you judge others for what they put in their mouths. I drink soda if I feel like it... it's not the only thing I drink, and I don't drink it every day, but if I feel like it I will have a glass. A glass here and there, if you are otherwise healthy, isn't going to kill you or give you kidney stones.
For being all "life, love and peace", you are awfully judgmental of others. Soda is not for you, great. The rest of us get to decide what we put in our mouths, so you can get off your high horse about it.
Agreed!

Really? The fire in your belly made your baby kick? Really?
I agree too about diet being at its best, as I think the majority of pregnant women would. We know what we should being trying our hardest to do what's best for our bodies and babies.
I'm just SO SICK of pregnant women being judged for every little thing we do or say or eat... and I just don't get how quick other pregnant women are to judge and dictate to fellow MTB's... we get it enough from our doctors and other people. Do what's right for you, and unless someone else seeks your advice, keep your mouth shut!
I will eat my deli meat and drink my soda, in moderation, because in the end that's right for ME... Sorry - but the original post just set me off today!
OH oh oh oh oh I remember this girl - she is the one with the post on 3rd tri about skipping the glucose test because the drink would probably give her diabetes.
OK now this I gotta see...
Found it! OK, I have officially spent too much time bumping and need to do some work! But seriously, this is amazing stuff...

WOW.
After reading that, I think I might need to take my "sugar induced seedling" and go crack open a can of Diet Coke.
HAHAHA. I can't take anyone seriously that begins a statement with 'imma gonna'. Wow. Not taking the GD test is just plain dumb.
Besides, she would probably really dislike me for not only drinking soda while pregnant, but (GASP!) drinking DIET soda while pregnant.
And I love it. My doctor said it is fine in moderation. I am healthy, at a healthy weight, and have a healthy baby and a little bit of soda isn't going to change that.

Um, news flash... on a message board anything you post is open to the reader's interpretation and judgement. If I wrote a post about my opinion, I'd expect others to judge it and respond. That is the point. If you don't like our responses, go write in your diary.
And, I will continue to read your posts, because I like a little entertainment during my day!
