Okay...1st time post ever.
So...I primarily breastfeed (hardly ever pump), however...I do supplement with formula for our last feeding of the day, generally after bath, right before sleep. He has a hard time even finishing a 4 ounce bottle. (I use the NUK bottles, if that matters...)
Anywho...I just read a post a few seconds ago, about "SAMPLE FEEDING SCHEDULE". When did your baby start drinking more than just 4 ounces of formula and move to 8? I just wonder how many ounces he is truly getting per breastfeed. (At his 4month (last week) appointment he weighed 16pounds and was in the "75th percentile"...I just wondering if I should be supplementing more and increase his intake of formula)
Sorry for the 20 questions...FTM jitters...
Re: How many ounces does your 4 month old devour?
My DD will only take 2-3oz of BM from a bottle at a time. BM changes (gets more calorie dense) as LO gets older so a BFed baby will take in the same # of oz of BM from 1-6 months, as opposed to a FF baby whose # of oz increases.
If your LO is following his growth curve, there is no reason to increase his supplementation.
There are different growth charts for girls and boys.
Oh wow, I didn't know that. Learn something new everyday!
Do you have a Wii fit? There is a program to weigh your baby. You could weigh him/her before a feeding, BF and then weigh directly after to see wat they are getting.
FWIW: my 4 month old is FF. He eats 6oz at each feed, and sometimes 8oz for his first feed of the day.

OMG!! sorry for the Multiple posts! I don't know what happened! G has been drinking 5 oz/ 5 - 6 times a day since she was 3 months. Our pedi told us to increase only at 1/2 oz to oz at a time. I have tried to up her to 6 but her little belly can't handle it.
