My parent's 40th anniversary is coming up, and I'm basically making them a "mixed tape" - I'm getting an ipod knockoff, and loading it up with music so they can hook it up to their receiver and pump some fly tunes around their hizzay.
lol.
I thought I would try to somehow make some PLAYLISTS, either by events in their lives (births, vacations, moving, whatevs) or just by decade? They're pretty ecclectic in their tastes, a little bit of everything. Typical parent music, lol.
Any ideas how to pull this all together? and have some type of organization to it all? I need to get hopping on it NOW.
THANKS!
Re: Little brainstorm help, please (re: gift)
I think I would do it by decade. The other way to sort it that you mentioned sounds fun, but maybe more work? What a cute idea though!
I would create playlists by the decade and then I would also create additional playlists (dinner music, irish jig music, party music, love songs, etc.)
Not sure if this is helpful, but maybe it would work to search out playlists from those cheezy Time Life compilation CDs - do they still make those? It might give you a good "best of" list and I always think of those as parent music.
...off to check if they still make those...
ETA: They do! I would pilfer some of the playlists from these that seem like they would be appealing to your parents! https://www.timelife.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=1001&catalogId=10001&categoryId=90000
Good luck!
I like this!!! Even if songs repeat b/w the specialized lists and decade lists.
