Best Stretch Mark Cream.

I am trying to find the best stretch mark cream. I heard that Cocoa Butter isn't as great as people make it to be.

So any recommendation would help!

Thanks

  • I don't think there is any special cream to prevent stretch marks.  I would suggest just using a moisturizer after showering to seal in moisture.

This is true.  Lots of products claim to prevent stretch marks, but all lies.  Stretch marks form from under the skin, putting anything on the top layers of your skin will make no difference. Sorry!

  • Unfortunately, the biggest part of whether or not you get stretch marks is genetics. Putting lotion on your belly will help you not itch as much during the stretching. I've heard (not sure if it is true or not) that the more you scratch your belly the worse your stretch marks will be.

  • Thanks for the info.

What about prenatal vitamins. I am taking a DHA vitamin that's for prenatal. My doctor told me I need one with fish oil and folic acid. What do ya'll recommend?

  • My doctor prescribed Neevo.

  • I take a Prenatal and DHA both by Rainbow Light.
  • Can't prevent stretch marks so don't even try. But you can use vitamin E oil once they do appear to help with lessening their scarring, however it won't do much. My doc prescribed my prenatals, so I can't help there, sorry!

  • I'm prone to getting stretch marks and while I was pregnant I religiously used "Johnson's Baby Oil GEL" and I didn't get any on my tummy. BUT that was the only place I used it so unfortunatly I did get them on my thighs :( Everyone says you can't prevent them if you're prone but it worked for me. Not only did it prevent me from getting them, it also kept me from being "itchy"

  • Can't prevent them unfortunately. I slathered up multiple times a day throughout my pregnancy but still got a few on my hips. The vitamin E oil does help to fade them a little bit though so that is a plus.

  • There no cream or better way to get rid of stretch marks. These stretch marks are skin deposits due to sudden weight loss. The best way to reduce the amount of stretch marks is to drink a lot of water, getting your body massaged, exfoliating skin, applying Lemon juice, Aloe Vera and Coco butter on stretch mark area, doing hot-cold/ice bath, performing body toning based exercises and doing yoga etc.

Oh man, I hope thats not true! I've been pratically tearing my skin off these past few days.

I use cocao butter lotion right now, although I'm not too happy with it. I had a specific Palmer's stretch mark lotion that has collegen in it, which I loved. It was very moisturizing, and helped almost all day long. I try to massage lotion into my skin really good, thinking that the extra tugging during massage with get my skin stretched out good enough to be able to handle the growing baby without too many stretch marks.

    Guess we'll see :)

  • I tried several different creams and lotions and still got an ass-load of stretch marks on my belly. I am genetically prone to getting them, though, so I was screwed from the beginning. :) However, maybe they would have been worse had I not made the effort? Dunno.

I've been putting this: https://www.amazon.com/Urban-Skintrition-Tighteners-Professionally-Formulated/dp/B002LHG9HI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1316447553&sr=8-3 on the marks for several months now and the marks have faded significantly but, again, would they be worse if I weren't using the cream? Dunno.
