PSA - Whole Foods Friday sale

Whole Foods is offering grass fed, ground beef for $4.99/lb on Friday - limit of 10lbs per person. We've been making the move towards more natural and organic foods, but I've been having a hard time getting the meat because it's so expensive. Not sure of the fat % content (will update if I find out), but this seems like a good deal?

  • Thanks for posting! If you're looking to save money at WF, they also have coupon books at the front of their stores. Separately, you can buy a "case" of any thing. There's a number on the price tag that tells you how many items make a case. Ie. rice milk is either 8 or 12 containers, depending on the size. You don't need a special box. Just throw them in your cart. For other deals in meat, you may want to look at local farms you can buy from. Usually if you buy in bulk from the local farms, you'll get a discount. Some offer that you can buy the whole animal--or half--this is substantially less expensive. Also, this isn't local to us, but we've received a gift card for La Cense Beef in MT. Its all grassfed and comes shipped frozen on dry ice. $100 got us a TON of really good quality meat and they frequently run specials for discounts or no shipping. We were very pleased with our order... There are farms like this all over the US.

  • $5/lb is about what I pay when I purchase an organic grass fed steer from a rancher.

That's it I'm raising my price I charge about half what La Cense Beef does and we probibly have simmilar grass since I'm also in Montana My beef as been selling for $2.25 a pound but since cattle prices are on the raise I was going to charge $2.50-2.75 it seems as though it's worth more
