finding a pediatritian

so ive put it off until now. the birthing center i chose requires you to have one, so I picked one off their list that is in the hosp, but I'll def want a different one. Is it really necessary to find one before LO arrives? I have no idea. thanks!

    I'm moving to a different city right after LO arrives to I'm starting my search for a good pediatrician now. I don't even know what hospital I'm having her at, so I don't have the option to just pick one. Personally, I would try to find some in your area and meet them to see which ones you like. It's better to have it all figured out before LO arrives so in case you don't like the one the hospital has you won't be scrambling to find another...especially, God forbid, your LO needs one right away. It's your choice as long as you are comfortable with whomever you choose. Good luck!

    I haven't started looking for one yet either. My midwife suggests speaking with friends that have had children and get recommendations from them, however aside from my SIL I'm the first one to have a baby out of my friends so I'm in the dark. I did ask my SIL and she goes to one that is right up the street, and I'm going to call them, it's also the same on that my BF had as a child, so hopefully I can get in to see him.

    The hospital that I'm delivering at requires a visit from the Pediatrician before the baby can be released from the hospital. You may want to call and find out if this is something you need to think about.
