February 2012 Moms

Spilled the beans to my class today!

I am tired of trying to figure out clothes to conceal my bump.  It's more my belly flab than an actual bump since I'm carrying low, but anyway... I teach 8th grade.  I pulled out 4 kids with birthdays in February, and I told them that I needed their help with a secret.  I told them I'm PG and that they are all born in Feb, so that's what they all have in common.  They were all excited for me and to participate in the secret game.

So I had them go up in front of the class, and I told the rest of the kids we were gonna play 20 questions to find out what these kids had in common.  The first questions were all over the place like "were you all born in Mexico, or do you all like pizza, or do you all play sports."  So, a few asked questions like "were you all born in the same year or were you all born in the US", and I told them they were getting warmer.  One kid asked "were you all born in the same month?"  They said yes, and I said that they have in common that they were all born in Feb like my baby will be!  They all gasped, said congrats, and were super excited!  Let's see what they think when they find out I'll be gone for a few months!  I love this class though!

  • I LOVE this. I work with mentally disabled adults and I have been trying to figure out a way to tell them. Some have already asked and noticed my belly. Others have funny comments about my growing belly. They pretty much tell you what they think so I dont know what to expect. One of my clients already told me I need to skip lunch because my belly is getting big! lol!

I know I need to tell them so I can answer their questions and prepare them for someone new to work with them while I am gone. (this will take months) still trying to think of a light hearted fun way to spill the beans!

But this is very cute way to tell your class!

  • Very cute!  I teach sophomore English.  I told them I was probably going to be getting fatter and fatter in the coming months and they weren't allowed to judge me because it's for a good reason.  Then I told them I had no moodiness at this point, but if they saw "the face,"  they probably shouldn't try to push it.  =-)  They laughed.
