I've introduced finger foods and they're still getting purees and breastmilk, of course. I'm just wondering how much of each I should be doing now. What does your nine month old's meal menu for the day look like?
I just quit nursing 4 weeks ago, so here is our new schedule:
8 AM - 8 oz bottle each
9 AM - split one jar of baby food (usually an oatmeal/fruit combo), and have a finger food here - all I have done so far is pancakes
11:30 AM - Lunch - split 3 jars of baby food (veggies/meats/fruits) and each have their own carton of yo baby yogurt. Then I give puffs, yogurt melts, or something else like that for practice.
4 PM - 8 oz bottle each
5:30 PM - Dinner - split 3 jars of baby food (veggie/meats/fruits) and each have a big bowl of oatmeal mixed with breastmilk thawed (this is how I'm using my freezer stash)
7:30 PM - Jack has a 6 oz bottle and we give Braley a big bowl of oatmeal mixed with breastmilk, since he refuses this bottle
So in all - they have 3 jars of baby food, about 22 oz of formula/breastmilk, a 4 oz carton of yogurt, oatmeal, and minimal finger foods. I'm going very slowly on this, since they both have a bit of the gag reflex.
My baby is a couple weeks younger than yours, but most days she gets solids at dinner only. I don't have a lot of frozen BM these days, so when I'm gone DH usually gives her solids, which is usually at dinner but (for example) she had solids for breakfast as well on Saturday since I was gone Saturday morning. She tends to dislike her first bite of food but then she eats it all; we thaw a frozen ice cube of pureed veggies for each "meal." Otherwise it's BM and more BM. I imagine we'll start adding more solids very soon since she enjoys it!

There is no should -- just go with your gut!
