Do I need to get him sturdy shoes? I was going to take him to Stride Rite this weekend to get measured and buy him some shoes. Right now he wears Robeez and those are not stable at all. When your LO's started walking when did you take them to get supportive shoes?

Re: Now that DS is walking....
Can I just say that I hate that our boys share a birthday.
Braley just started rolling over last month and I was over the moon : )
But as for your questions - we waited for shoes until I felt like Paige was a strong walker. Then, yes, I would get good walking shoes.
Oh I'm totally kidding...I know my kids are fine and right on track. It is just funny the huge range of 'normal' there is!
I'm sorry about Brady's gag reflex! Is it on all solids or just table foods?
When I took D in to stride right to get measured when he first started walking they told me he was still in "early walker" stage, which is not as supportive as regular shoes, but they had some with more flexiable soles, but better bottoms then robeeze so he could walk outside.
So if you plan on doing outside walking w/ him, you can get a pair of those. In the house, socks or robeez is still the way to go until he is older.

My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

This! We moved to sturdier-bottomed shoes when they were skilled walkers, which took a couple months!
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I think to an extent you also need to follow their lead. Sam started walking around Thanksgiving, and by Christmas he was walking most everywhere, and able to stand up without pulling up. He was great at walking inside, but *refused* to walk outside - not on the grass, not on sand, no on cement. So just after Christmas (and his first birthday) we got him harder soled shoes and he took RIGHT off outside. I think he just felt really unsteady on different surfaces and it took soled shoes for him to feel more sure of himself.

This. Yay for Brady!
