Has anyone been to a pediatric GI? Are the only ones around at Texas Childrens?
I was referred to ds's reflux and tummy issues but they cant see me for a month! We are not sleeping in this house and there is something wrong with ds....another month sems like forever.
Re: pediatric GI?
Has there already been a referral sent to TCH? Which doctor were you trying to see? There are GI docs at the Texas Children's Health Centers. https://www.texaschildrens.org/health-centers/ Where are you located? I work at the Sugar Land location. Dr. Gopalakrishna (aka Dr. Krishna) sees patients there.

yes, ds's dr (karen smith of the pediatric center in sugarland) has referred him to texas childrens. I'm located in katy. They made an appt today but its at the actual hospital. I didnt know if I have to go where the refer me or if there are other people I can call and have them change the referral there.
I believe once the referral is made, you can see any of the GI doctors. I forgot we have 2 GI doctors. Dr. Gopalakrishna and Dr. Thakkar (pronounced Tucker).
Do you know who you have an appt with? Send me a PM with your son's name and I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Got your PM. I will look in to it tomorrow. Do you care who you see, or what day or time? Or do you just want first available?
Edit: They are both good and would trust either of them with my baby. Dr. Krishna is there 3x's per week vs Dr. Thakkar who is only there 1x per week, if that matters.

If you trust them and think they are both great then either one is fine. first available!
I just need to get my insurance to send a referral before the visit I think?
