How was everyone's weekend?
Did anyone get any bad weather from Irene (esp you Albany ladies?)

We had such a fun weekend.
Saturday morning Evan helped me make pancakes for breakfast, then DH did lots of yard work and washed both cars (Evan helped, and had so much fun!) while I cleaned the house and baked oatmeal peanut butter sandwich cookies (like Girl Scout do-si-do's, but better!) Then after Evan's nap we went to Dave and Busters and let him play some games and had dinner.
Sunday I hosted an open house for my dad, then my parents came over for dinner and we all went to the Bisons game. Evan was really into the game, and was clapping and cheering and dancing. He actually stayed in the seats for over half the game... which was pretty good for him! It was perfect weather for an evening baseball game, it was nice to wear jeans and a sweatshirt!
Hope everyone stayed safe from the storm... here in Buffalo we were lucky to not get any bad weather- just some wind and cooler temps.
We had a fantastic weekend, and even Sunday wasn't too bad. We went to visit my MIL in Syracuse. We went to the State Fair on Friday, which was so much fun, and then the zoo on Saturday morning. We were able to have a quick lunch with one of my college BFFs and her family before packing up and heading home to get our house ready for the storm. We had cleaned up most of our backyard on Thursday before leaving, so we just had a couple things that we pulled onto our screened-in porch (no garage :-( )
Yesterday turned out to be OK. Lots of rain and wind. It was like having a nasty snowstorm, except that we couldn't go out and play in the snow afterwards. We relaxed all day, DS had a late nap, and we made popcorn and watched a movie at night. Just happy there are blue skies today, and that my family and friends were safe.
See post below re: Friday and Saturday. By the time we got home on Saturday L was DONE! He went done for a nap around 5 and slept until 6:30. He was miserable. He snapped out of it after some dinner, and then we just played and watched a movie until bedtime.
Yesterday we got groceries, and then L took a 3 hour nap, while I cleaned and unpacked. DH was on call lastnight from 7-7 so we just hung out and watched some Jersey Shore and the VMA's.
Our weekend had it's ups and downs. On Friday night I went out in Saratoga with friends and had a great time! It was nice to unwind, have some drinks, and dance my butt off! It had been a long week with Molly's molars coming in.
Saturday we got up early, and got everything put away before the storm. That took an hour or so, and then we got ready and left for the Washington County Fair. Which was a train wreck. Molly got sunscreen in her eyes and wouldn't stop rubbing them. She freaked out and combined with the heat/humidity and her teething, she was miserable so we left after just over an hour. So we went to Lowes and the grocery store for a few things we needed, then got a pizza to bring home. That night DH and I just relaxed and caught up on some tv.
Sunday the storm wasn't as bad as expected, but still worrisome. The next door neighbor's tree fell on our fence at one point. The crack was so loud! This tree is huge, I'll PIP it. We also have a creek running through our front yard that got very close to backing up through our sump pump line. Luckily it didn't...and we never lost power either so we were very lucky. We just played with the girls all day, and DH even let me take a 2 hour nap which was heavenly!!! The girsl were tired early so we put them down and then watched True Grit on onDemand.
Weekend was Ok:
Saturday- Dh mowed the lawn, we took his car for an inspection and we played in the yard, pulled out the generator, and put all of L's toys in our shed to prepare for the storm- we had some rain on saturday night.
We lost power in the middle of the night on saturday..we lazed around the house during the day on sunday then went to my BIL to cook dinner - we came home and hooked up the generator ( its wasnt too dark during the day and our fridge/freezer stayed pretty cool all day)- I got to watch True Blood- yay! The power was back on when we went to sleep.
Lorenzo was a bit bummed he didnt get to watch his show in the morning on sunday but other than that- the storm wasnt too eventful for us...
We had a great weekend! On Saturday I took my niece shopping for an outfit for school. My Mom and sister came along and we went to lunch. DH spent 4 hours cutting wood so he napped in the afternoon then we went to Home Depot.
Yesterday we stayed home all day b/c of the storm. We just got a lot of rain and wind and our internet was out. DH went to get a pizza and the ILs came over to play cards while DD napped. DD was in a great mood all day so we enjoyed being house bound!
Saturday: DH had a scrimmage so we went to that for a while until it was naptime then came home. After napping, we went to a coaches party which was nice, but was at an open area with a pond. So we basically played chase the whole night, trying to keep Jules away from the water. We stayed out too late and it threw Sunday off.
Sunday: I decided that since DH had a really fun night on Saturday I should get to sleep in on Sunday so when I got out of bed at 10, I realized we had no power. It went out around 8 am I guess and stayed out all day until Monday morning around 10:30. We just hung out pretty much all day, but I was so mad about not having power that long and seeing lots of NYSEG trucks all over town. At least we have village water so we had that. I think we'll be looking at getting a generator in the near future (this is the 2nd time we've lost it for over 24 hours in 3 months).
