Xanders Speed Racer delivery! (Little long. PsIP)

Well ladies, Ill get to the point. I had always said August 28 was the date I was "Vibing" but never thought much of it in seriousness... So it was VERY surprising when my water broke yesterday evening at 10:20pm.

Now this is going to go quick ;-) so try to keep up..

I was having BH off and on for days.. I kind of just accepted that this baby may be late. However last night piddling around before bed.. Kept logging onto the FB page.. Finally called it a night and went potty then remembered to make DHs lunch. I set it up and went back to bed. I checked my phone once more and suddenly felt a jolt/thump.. Like DS stretched so hardcore. I heard a POP and didnt believe it. I jumped up from bed and rushed to the bathroom and sat on the toilet. The water gushed out instantly and heavily. I grabbed the nearest towel and relived what happened with DD.. I woke DH up and told him the news. He of course didnt believe me because we joked it happen that day..

I of course rushed to get my hospital bag together because I swore if I did it early he wouldnt show up.. I could already feel very minor contractions starting. Which was abnormal from DD. I didnt think much of it.. We packed up and rushed out the door. My mother was over to watch DD.

We arrive to the hospital around 11pm and what do you know theyre busy.. I get put in a kind of waiting room faux l&d room.. Upon my very first check I was 3-4cm..(which my nurse had to have short fngers.. can we say pain!) My contractions were getting stronger. The nurse said theyd move me "soon" .. I think I didnt get moved till closer to 1am.. (everything happened so fast hard to know exact) My contractions were coming fast and painful.. As soon as we got to the other room they hooked me up to the IVs and gave me the antibiotics because they didnt know my gbs results..

I raced through the paper work during painful contractions as they needed to be done before the epidural.. I couldnt do it natural and was really fearing Id have to.. Finally paperwork finished and Dave the epi man wandered in.. Id love to say he was a godsend but it took nearly 5 tries and four horrible contractions to even be placed properly.. (Getting an epi feels weird and when it goes the wrong way OUCH) Im not sure when it was completed.. Somewhere at 1 something closer to 2am..

They checked me again after the epi was placed and I was 6cm.. I pressed the magic epi button because I wasnt numbing too quickly and getting scared. At one point I felt the contractions only in my bottom.. Close to 3am I was already 9cm.. It was flying.. I felt the urge to push. We were waiting on my Dr.. It felt like DS head was in my crotch..

My Dr shows and sets up.. He seems tired.. Probably just woke up. I dont remember when I was told to start pushing.. I felt everything.. The epi made it bareable but it wasnt painless.. I remember pushing and his head was almost out then had to wait for a contraction.. It hurt.. I announced it hurt.. But sucked it up.. My OB did something to try and help me from tearing but it didnt work.

Xander James arrived at 3:08am 7lbs 9oz 20.5in long. (His monster sister beat him by 2oz and a week earlier!) Scored an 8&9 on apgar and peed on his nurse twice ;) .. He left me behind with a second degree tear.. and despite it all.. I feel fantastic.. It was a about 4 and a half hours give a little that this whole thing started with my water breaking to his birth.. He really wanted out! No Pitocin needed :-)
