The last few days my DD has not wanted to eat as much as normal. She is new to this on the move stuff and will not sit still for more than 1-2 ounces. It is 2 pm and all she has eaten today is 9 ounces and 1/2 of a banana and a few cheerio's. Yesterday she has maybe 18 ounces all day and refused all solids but a few bities. I am just worried she is not getting enough her diapers have been normal. She is not a big kid 17 lbs at 8 month (25%) for weight.
She is getting over a cold and just got a new tooth last week. Could this affect her food intake?
Re: Did your 8 month old ever protest eating?
At 8 months, they are so distracted and they have so much going on, that every child is going to have off days or even weeks. With teething, a new physical skills, and more ability to exert her preferences (I like this, I don't like that), she's bound to eat/drink less.
If it continues for a week or so, or if her wet/dirty diapers decrease, then I'd call the pedi.
Just when you think you've got these kids figured out...they throw you a curve ball.
