Success after IF

What kind of yogurt do you feed your baby?

The grocery store that I go to doesn't carry Yo-Baby.  Is there another yogurt that would be good?

Thanks!

  • when he was really little, I bought plain full fat yogurt and would mix in some purees..but for the last few months we've been using gogurts...its just nice to not have to deal with a spoon ;)

  • I do yo-baby, but would be okay with my kids having any kind of full-fat yogurt.  Just stay away from any of the 'light' varieties.

  • I started off with Gerber yogurt. It doesn't need to be refrigerated and was a good starter one. We use original yoplait now.

Just an FYI, when looking at yogurt look at the sugar content. A kids yogurt should have less than 14  grams to be considered healthy. An adult yogurt, less than 16 grams.

  • I did Gerber until my store finally started carrying yo-baby.

  • DD gets full fat, plain, Greek yogurt and I mix in fruit.  Greek yogurt has tons of protein, which is good because she does not eat very much meat.

My mom buys her Yo Baby, so she's had it before.  I'm not crazy about how much sugar it has, so we don't buy it at home.

  • DS eats the Yoplait Kids.  It's a small enough size not to be wasteful if he decides he's not in the mood, but usually he loves it!  He never liked the Yo Baby for some reason.

  • We did Chobani Champions for a long time, but he prefers the regular/adult greek yogurt now.

  • When she was 9 months I bought the gerber stuff since it didn't have to be refrigerated (so we could just bring it with us in the diaper bag).  WE also did another refrigerated baby one but I honestly can't remember which-- it may have been yo baby (is that my stonyfield farm, that may be it).  At about a year we also (snd still) started giving her the danny smoothies and just punched a straw through the foil top.  It's a little high in sugar but for those fussy days it is a life saver.  And they love being able to use the straw.

Now we do chobani and she loves it!  There are some chunks in it so it may be too early but once she can chew a bit, I would highly recommend it.

  • I used to buy the big container of plain Stoneyfield whole fat yogurt and mix in fruit purees.

I tried the Chobani Champions stuff and they didn't like it.

  • DS eats the Chobani champions, and DD gets plain greek yogurt with baby food purees mixed in.  I started DS on YoBaby, so then he would never eat the plain stuff with puree mixed in because it wasn't as sweet.  So with DD, I started her off with plain, and she loves it!  We went with the Greek yogurt now because neither of them are big meat eaters and the Greek stuff has almost 2X the amount of protein.

  • When DD was on purees, I also did the big tub of full fat plain yogurt (greek or regular, whatever I could find), and I mixed in the fruit.

Now she hates being spoon fed, and makes  HUGE mess with the gogurt stuff, so she just gets yogurt melts for the time being.   :::sigh:::
