left used to produce about 75% as much as righty, but lately she's down to about 30%. is there anything you can do to promote production on the underachieving side? TIA!
My lefty always underproduced my R sided. I never got it to catch up. I tried having him nurse more often on the L side, but it didn't help much, if at all.
I had this problem so severely that it kept me from being able to BF successfully. Each time I pumped, I would get 3-4oz on left, and maybe an oz on the right. Didn't matter what I tried, or how often I pumped. Sorry you're experiencing this too

If using a pump when was the last time you changed the little white membranes on your valves? When those begin to wear, my output always tanks.
i use the medela freestyle--it doesn't have the same little white membranes that hospital grade pumps have. maybe i should get new parts, though, just in case.
I have a very severe case of this with R underproducing L. Now that DD is on wcm I am simply trying to keep her in the action, but it is probably close to done. I thought I would chime in that I, too, was never able to get her to catch up. However, I was able to increase production by always offering that side first and many of the other traditional ways to increase including Fenugreek, extra pump session at night before bed (this also gave me backup supply if I needed to supplement it was with pumped bm), ensuring good diet including lots of protein and water, low caffeine, rest, low stress - ahahahah, okay, i tried! Like I said, I was never able to get her in the race for producer of the year, but she did at least get me a few oz here and there. Hang in there, it is not easy, you are doing a great job!
OH, I have the freestyle and hated the horns that came with it. I went up a size and that def helped with pumping. It wasn't until I switched that I realized how much I needed the larger size.
Re: if you have an underachieving boob . . .
